You cannot fish for two teams in the same season Mate, so the answer is no I am afraid.

Does anybody know what's happening ?
We were all asked to fill in a winter league survey some time back what ever has happened to that. Now is the time to speak up about the event THE BEST TEAM EVENT WE HAVE
Ok this is definitely the wrong time of year for this natural venue yet Lindholme will be a class match and everyone will catch fish. Why didn't anyone speak out about the natural venue when it was announced its only a suggestion but why not have the other semi final on a commercial but make it silverfish only yes i realise its moving off a natural venue but at least everyone would catch fish at this time of year. How many time's have i heard all anglers want is a days fishing they work all week to go fishing. Packington/Barston are fishing well ok its down to the weather but it will still be better off on these venues than the stainy
canals are brilliant in the winter but its just not happened this year and fish are now thinking about spawning
Say that at least every team on the stainy is in with a chance and perhaps deep down teams fancy the challenge but also like to cover there backs
I feel there is very little communication between the A/Ts and Teams and this is a bridge that needs crossing sooner rather than later .

well said joff but i think the main problem is that at the A/T they are not in touch with match fishing as such its just a business to them and as long as there seen to be doing something they will be o.k.,i meen there is no buzz or looking forward to this match what so ever get it moved now why we have chance if on the stainy stick it at thorne.

this does need moving and i think the A/T know this but i dont think they will, went up yesterday with godfrey it looks o.k. top marks on the pegs we looked at, all had decking platforms and good access but missing that one ingredient for a fishing match.
i never had a bite and mark had 9 little fish that might of pushed 4 oz
never seen any body else fishing except some no english after super if you no what i meen,it will be a disater if it stays as it is and the A/T will not get good press from the semi and its not like they dont know.

Cross anything you need to but you aint catching fish down there at that time of year sorry to be the barer of bad news on this subject but as I said earlier on the thread there just isn't anything to be had, Bream, Tench and odd perch and roach ( and I mean odd ) are all that is resident there this time of year, big fish if they do show ( weather and colour pending ) will be end couple of pegs, rest will be a lottery. If there is any chance of you getting it moved, vote for it urgently as the canal will not change
Just cant get a draw

Thanks Big cup i know you live on the water and have done all your life if they dont try in the next couple of days it will be too late.
If they want loughborough canal they can have it if not talk to commercials for a silverfish only they are not going to turn that sort of money after the wet winter we've just had.

Its a shame as they have spent a lot of money down there on pegs etc but the timing is all wrong, later in the year perch are in every peg, lots more roach, skimmers as well as bream throughout ( although end pegs or pegs with room still have the edge ) eels are well worth targeting to, but your talking a fair few weeks later than this match
Just cant get a draw
Does anybody know what's happening ?
we fished it 2 years ago on div 2 national, really nice venue lots of roach on squat an hemp and lots of bream, but remember talkin to a local bloke which confirms what seems to be happening now as in no roach and just few resident fish, best national venue iv fished though lots of work been done on pegs and the access.what makes it pretty obvious is the angling trust dont do a bit of research into the choice of venues , or is it a case of nobody else nominates a water to be used?, at a time when the winter league is getin smaller each year this is just askin for trouble and just like nationals when a team drops out they never come back, lets hope all the lads in the know about the venue are wrong , and the angling trust are proved right !

To be fair I cannot see any red hot favorites on that venue. The usual suspects who I expect to do well are Shakey and Drennan NW due to their strength in depth on a bloodworm canal match. So who has fished for other teams ? as I know its not Shakey.

I think you're right choppy its wide open for sure everyone has a choice to pick one or the other venues.Qualifying for the final is the goal so the teams that picked this venue must fancy their chances better no matter how crap it is than taking on the commercial boys at lindholme where undoubtedly they would all catch and have a days fishing .
the same is happening with the sensas final anglers are moaning because at the moment its big flat floats upto 40g and racing through everyone is in the same boat as long as you can get hold of the right tackle it's wide open we still have this week for it to change

its a joke that they have put the semi on that stretch of canal at that time of year it will be a total lottery b/j wont make a difference there are places were there are no fish what so ever I have had a few come in the shop who have been down theres no roach they are all off to spawn they have moved out of thorne now aswell there will be a odd big perch a few bream in places but it aint got anwere near enough fish to make it a fishing match odd little perch it will be a proper bad match down there at least if it was in thorne it would be a bit better not as many roach but there are more perch and skimmers if they fish the stretches they have put down at the min at least 40% will blank if not more
good luck u will need it
