Upper Thames winter league
Second round was fished today, here are the results:
Angling Trust Upper Thames Winter League. Round 2. River Avon Chippenham and Melksham. (60 pegs)
The river fished quite well for the second round of the Upper Thames Winter League and the weights were well spread between Chippenham and Melksham on the Bristol Avon. with over a dozen double figure weights
Winner on the day and drawing end peg at Island Park at Chippenham was Devizes Match Group stalwart Kevin Rowles. Kevin started off catching Roach and Perch on the pole over groundbait and had about 12lb in the net before before catching an 'accidental' 5lb Bream, he took a while to get it in on the right roach gear, but then put a heavier chopped worm rig over the top and caught another 6 more Bream, to finish the match with a superb 41-6.
After Kev the weights got a lot tighter with one or two fish separating the framers
