Last Monday I was privileged to get a ticket for Les's Memorial match at one of his favourite venues, the Model Canal at Hanchurch.
I say privileged as a mark to the man; it was the first time ever all 60 pegs were taken on the Model Canal - you can't say much more than that; the venue has been going a few years now.
£300 was raised from the raffle alone, all of which goes to Les's wife Jan who is to donate it to the unit at North Staffs Hospital that treated and looked after Les in his last days.
It was really pleasing for me to see so many anglers come out, many of them I hadn't seen for many a year.
How did it fish? Nobody cared, it was for Les.
A big thanks to the Chase Social lads for organising this, all the staff at Hanchurch Fisheries and all for coming. A fitting tribute. To accommodate those that couldn't get on and those that wanted to and could'nt be there, of which there was many, there is a chance there will another one later on.
