Just a thought !
I don,t understand why this canal is open in the "closed season". I thought the rule was that only land locked waters were exempt from closing, this canal goes into the Trent !
Maybe I have got this wrong, any ideas ?

When you look at it lots of the canals flow into rivers at some stage. The T&M is a prime example as that flows into at least two rivers.
I am always led to believe if a water say comes off a river without a lock, including marinas and the like it is classed as part of the river.
