just a question WHO is responsable if this angler falls through the ice and doesn't get out god forbid
as he has paid his money to fish a peg in the organised match and the organiser must feel its safe to fish[not getting at the organiser lee

just a thought as we were talking about it last night i lost a friend through the ice some years ago and it reminds me every time i see canals rivers and lakes frozen.in his case it was his dog that went through and he tried to save the dog the water was only 4ft deep and he was a body builder.i know its different and there are other anglers around where as tony was on his own but its still a big risk as the family struggled to get his life insurance to payout

Big Dave has had plenty of close calls being an ex b/joker scaper , he knows what he is doing to be fair, think him being only 3 ft tall and 6 stone helps stop him going through the ice

He did say he was going to go in with his chestys and an axe but the ice was too thick

everybody's your friend until it happens dodge just a thought mate
we don't see ice very often here once in a blue moon and we don't have the matches every week like they do around lee's area on canals so maybe they are geared up better.
a disclaimer signed by the competitors would cover the organiser,its a bit of a ball ache but its not very often these conditions arise

NOT A CHANCE BILL in fact when it was mentioned the bloke[ who was a health and safety risk assessor for a big insurance company] i was talking to said "i never heard what you have just said

i talked about the risks when rivers are in flood that was another no no
