Jam Factory, Old Pool Results (Tinks Match)
Tough day again ::)
Lovely and sunny and flat calm.
After the whistle. Wind and cloud
And just to keep in tradition it rained at the weigh-in ::) ::)

I fished shallow at 11m all day on red maggot.
Couldn't get a bite on pellet on the deck or shallow, the fish were very fussy with the carp not showing themselves much.
My catch was mainly silvers with a tench for about 5lb that I caught shallow.
The wind really crappity smack me off it affected my feeding and blew my landing net 100 times off my table Its always crappity smack windy on the weekend when I go fishing. When I'm working there's no wind all all !!
Well done to Gav, Heinzer and Dekka for all framing.
Tinky was rather quiet today, I can't thing why

Dekka caught all his fish in the last half hour.
Shame he was using knicker elastic, he could have got them in a bit quicker and caught some more

Jam Factory, Old Pool Results (Tinks Match)
Well……………………….
Another epic battle that I’d rather forget, but spose I’d better pen a few words both for prosperity and to satisfy ME.
At the outset, I’d like to make the point that you guys just don’t realise how psychologically scarred I end up each week in my quest failure to catch carp. Every Monday morning it’s the same – another trip to the docs for another repeat prescription to get me through the week.
Given it was to be a battle with munsters, I was carrying two poles with me – my normal commercial pole which is fitted out with a range of lackies 8s, 10s, a couple of 12s and 14s and also the Beastmaster with 4 top 2s with cranked up latex 14s.
Arriving at the draw, the CURSE kicked in. With a belly only carrying 2 cups of tea Heinzer, ME and myself are greeted by Simple Simon who advises that the onsite café is shut. Ahhhhhhhh.
A mooch in the carryall reveals no bags or crisps or any refreshment on any time – sod it, the belly already is gnawing and I’ve got nowt to nibble or sip for the next 7 hours plus.
As promised, Simple Simon also gives me 10 pints of carp repellent flavoured feed pellets to use on the day………….only joking Si – much appreciated - ta
The draw – cant remember what nos were posted on here elsewhere as being the ‘cock’ pegs – and I dip in and pull out 3. Cant remember that one having a mention. Ah well – not far to walk.
ME has pulled out 2 and has the CURSE for company – how will he fare today
Will he be the first to overcome the CURSE
He points out he’s got a memorial behind him – created in memory of a young lad who drowned in the peg. ME later learns that the peg is not normally fished/put in for matches.
Anyway, plumbing up find 6 ft at 5 mtrs and it continues shelving away. 4 shark rigs are set up – a couple at depth for 5 & 6 mtrs, a mid depth rig and a marging rig that will also double up as an up in the water rig at 10 mtrs. I say shark rigs because they ranged from 5.12 to 7.6 lb breaking strains. The wag is also set up to attack the few fish showing periodically in the middle of the pool
The off. The wind has picked up a bit more and is blowing left to right – down into those cock pegs. A pot of pellet with a few samples corn is dumped on 5 mtrs, the marging receives a smaller dose and its out long up in the water pulting out regular amounts of pellet.
15 mins gone, as expected NOWT..
A look inside at 5 mtrs on both corn and pellet, NOWT.
A longer look on the wag, NOWT. Winds got up too much by now – the wags now out of the question.
Continue feeding margins and 5 mtr line whilst fishing long pole line, plicking pellet and mag now. A few bits on the mag – how do them diddy roach get that shark hook in their gobs?
Whilst there are signs of a few fish being picked up on the opposite bank by anglers, ME and the BDM are having a titanic battle catching nowt. Half way through, BDM’s got the edge on ME with 8 bits to ME’s 4 bits.
Bl**dy hell its cold in the wind…………..coat on – then 10 mins later coat off. Repeated over the last couple of hours as there are a few Blackpool rollers and fishing the long line is a back breaker so its 5mtrs and margins only from now in.
Up and down through the water like a fiddlers elbow. But BDM moves even psychologically further ahead from ME when he pricks a carp as lackie shoots out and the its straight off. This happens again half hour later……………...
Bits are showing up in the water to double red mag, but these are bumped off time and time again with that cranked up no 14.
10 mins to go. Back at full depth at 5 mtrs the float dips, a lift and the lackie screams off. Pole dipped and that 4 ft of no 14 through the top 2 is evident under the water for 20 foot or more. It bottoms out and a submarine surfaces and rolls over. That’s a good un thinks BDM.
The beast is played on the top 4 for the next 5 mins, Lackie retreats into bush and a lift which agitates it a bit more. Off it steams again to the right. End of sections dipped again.
Now BDM must have been day dreaming about that breckie he never had as the hunger pangs screamed. With the pole still dipped the beastie must have moved from right to left and ‘lined things up perfectly.’ First BDM realises is a sudden slackness, just the feeling when you’ve been snapped. Cant have done that thinks BDM, must have come off – after this is 7.6lb straight through. Then the realisation……………..
………..bl**dy top two’s come off – sticks out of the water like Excalibur, is dragged off slowly to the centre of the pool before disappearing out of sight.
Only 3 or 4 mins left………sod it time to pack up and ring that Doctor for another repeat prescription

Ah well........there's always a silver lining to every cloud
Top 3 kits for the Beastmaster are only £30 and I've got a few Xmas vouchers stashed away
But more important..............
had to make sure the was restricted to one side of the pool
as I had a 50% share of teammate Heinzers 2nd place winnings on the day
Just a shame that ME copped the the full wrath of the
ps ME - remind me what I missed out as I was halucinating most of the day due to starvation
