Slider Float Guide?

Hi guys,

I want to try the slider on a couple of venues I've been pleasure fishing for a while but I'm not too sure on float selection? So to start with, the first is an old 20 acre estate lake, calm most of the time, and the swims are around 10-20ft where I want to try the method. Ranges up to around 30 to 40 yards maximum.
The second is a much more variable venue! It is a 100+ acre reservoir, with depths from 10 to 30ft in the swims I intend to fish the slider. This venue can be extremely choppy, and pull like a river when they are pumping! The range on this venue would be up 50 or 60 yards, but much of the time perhaps only 30 to 40.
I've been looking at the Cralusso Zero Sliders, just because I like Cralusso floats generally.
Can anyone help me out?

Thank you :)

you wont go far wrong with the Rive scotthorne sliders mate i use these for most of my slider work, 30-40 yards you want about 6SSG and 50-60 yards 8SSG. Anythink over that distance i would stick with the feeder mate because its very difficult to read the float.

No wories mate, im not trying to teach you to suck eggs mate but make sure you put some float silocone on the line where your are going to put your bulk. The silocone is nothing to do with stopping the shot from damaging the line,it is to keep the movement beetween the SSG's to a minimum because you will get alot of tangles in the bottom of your rig.

Excellent article about various slider techniques in matchangler.com, sliding across frontiers. Might take a bit of tracking down but worth it in my view. The Perfect floats very similar to the Rive ones, they work a treat.
