Another good match today on the old river as the main river was nacked, yesterdays Mouncey League was called off.
Top weight today was Chris Reilly with a magnificent weight of 24lb 10oz of punch fish off end peg behind Lidls.
Next weights in were 16lb and 15lb and all sections apart from one or two needed double figures to win.
I scraped a usual 3rd in section with 8ib 6oz[reason]broke swear filter[/reason]

In case your wondering what was happening.... Scunthorpe has a rude word in it and the swear filter was changing it the the nice version.

The old town sections very rarely fail to dissapoint.  Are there any open matches in between christmas & new year ?

I have done well on the old river in the past--but never THAT well, I won my section each of the 3 times I fished it-- the best with just over 5lb.
I was only chatting to a guy who fishes The Ancholme a couple of weeks ago and he told me they never use the old river nowdays.
If they only used the old river I would come and fish the matches.
PS: I won the Boston benevolent Match on the Sibsey Trader last weekend with 20LB 9 OZ. and that came as quite a shock.( it was running hard too)
