Still got loads of floats Dave supplied me with, all hand made for the Trent and Avon....top class floats. Don't know whether he made them or had them made for him. He was brilliant on running water, and not bad on the Bream shoals in Edgbaston by the look of the photo. A nice fella all round, and sadly missed :(

That's one big canal
Didn't know DA had passed, some big shoals of Bream at Edgbaston, I don't know how it fishes these days, it's a pitty the Parks championships have stopped as they were a cracking event open to all.
I remember losing two bream in two casts at Edgbaston in the Team Final, it cost the team dearly and myself a top three place, in the run up to the event I had not lost a single fish, and that included a massive bag of bream at an estimated 200lb to 250lb from down the creek, I had never had fishing like it before or since.

Can I also add RIP to my post.
I met Dave many times, mainly on the midlands rivers in the 90s ..... and he was always cheerful and willing to offer help to someone (me) who didn't know the venues well. Probably didn't see me as much of a threat
