Wryley Essington canal at Beechdale

To say it fished poor would be a massive understatement, it was abysmal!

Winner with a tench, a bream and a few roach was Shakespeare superteam veteran Dave McCall with 5-15-0 from a peg behind the school on pinkie and bread.

2nd Paul Turner (Maver Tipton) 3-13-0

3rd Sam Rushden (Maver Tipton) 2-6-3

4th Lee Woodhouse (Maver Tipton) 2-4-5

5th Steve Broome (Dudley bait) 2-3-6

6th Dave Lloyd (Maver Tipton) 2-3-2

Lots of rain, sudden drop in temperature, fish spawning, fish eating spawn, could of been a number of factors.

Annoying that fish were topping and couldn't get a bite, I had four fish first half hour then no more bites.

The amount of fish in that canal is unreal, I see them most days on my lunch hour at work, several
Different 200 strong shoals of bream, pockets of tench, sum
Enormous carp and plenty of Rudd roach and perch shoals. Most days the canal
Is black with fish. Lee do u still look after the section???

Bridgewater canal was dire to say the very least last sunday , proper good turnout fish (roach) topping everywhere but no one could catch anything except tiny perch on bits of worm. Probably one of the best canal pegs in the country (Kelloggs Hump) won the match with just 1.10.0 all tiny skimmers ! Image :o Image
