any drop outs yet ,has the pressure started to get to one or two
Simple Match Fishing Forum Cut 'Championship' 2012
I've recently retired as chairman of Harrisons, but I've had a quiet word with the new chairman to 'explore' the possibility of accomodating a 'tented village' for any of our travelling members if it makes things 'easier' for them............initial reaction is positive, just needs ratification from the trustees, so if all goes to plan I'm hoping that anyone travelling any distance can, if they wish, travel up on the Sat and pitch up and have a few pints on the Sat night, before setting off for the match which is just a couple of miles away on the Sunday morning.
Right guys can confirm that this option is now a 'goer' - only proviso is that any bivies etc are packed away in the morning as the area is a beer garden/childrens play area and will be 'open' whilst we fish..........
Now whilst I've been 'sorting this out', I've also been conducting negotiations at great expense on how to entertain you on your stay over in sunny Great Wyrley
And I can now reveal..............
On the day before ( ie 30 June) the match, the Olympic Torch will pass through the village........
Now its all dead hush hush as to what time this once in a life time occasion will happen
But just for you guys I can reveal - and dont tell anyone else
It's scheduled to go through at approx 11am
So get to Wyrley early if you wish to 'participate' in the festivities.............in fact if you wish to avoid any possible congestion in the area, you could arrive on the Fri evening, camp up and have a few bevies in the process (aok you'd have to take the tent down an extra time)........... but soak up the atmosphere in the morning, have a saunter down the cut on the afternoon to 'suss it out'.........
Alternatively...............
If you don't fancy a saunter down the cut
It's Great Wyrley Carnival after the torch has passed through............complete with Fun Fair so you could have a spin on the big wheel instead
So I think it's fair to say...............
Wyrley is gunna be 'buzzing' that weekend - the Olympic Torch, the Carnival and Fun Fair followed by..........
An exihibition of riparian skills and talent down on the towpath the next morning

Mugger and Co's campsite..............

TK seeing as it will still be light at about 10pm what time will we be allowed to put our bivvys up?
Simple Match Fishing Forum Cut 'Championship' 2012
What time would suit DaveC? On balmy summer nights the gates are normally 'locked' at dusk/10pm at the latest. This is because out of view to the left behind high fencing are bungalows for the elderly and we wouldnt wish to attract 'complaints' because of noisy children - not that there is usually many out at that time of night to be honest........
If it aint balmy, the gates dont tend to get opened as there is no call from the members to go on the green (I've obviously got a key ) - you can lock yourselves in and out

The sooner we can get them set up the more time we have for a drink or 6.

Well if conditions are suitable Dave you could strike camp early and have a gallon or two watching the red sky and sun set with a fishy tale or two on the green.......
Or if not suitable, strike camp, lock the gate and sample the live entertainment

Si No problem mate. You normally splits your matches in to two anyway
Simple Match Fishing Forum Cut 'Championship' 2012
Sadly a casualty has been declared as this match clashes with the Dams & Lock league, so MarkJD 'makes the cut' from the reserve list

Harry W also makes the cut now from the reserve list as Dave Wall is double booked and cant join us
