I love Wheaton aston! Its where i grew up until we moved. Learnt to fish on that canal, i remember the fine smells that used to come from the pig farm just behind the pub
The small turning basin on that section between the lock and the bridge that the pub sits on used to have some lovely skimbos, although sadly now i dont think you can fish it
I am moving house again now just round the corner and its put the fishing on hold for the last 4 months. If i said i was climbing up the walls to get out and do a bit i would be telling porkies....its much much worse than that

For many years I used to fish that section Olly - it was £4 a year and controlled by Brewood British Legion
Ah........happy days, had some cracking days fishing with HaHa and Tat from Kiddeminster on there. The days when you used to catch a load more than the 'expected' 2lb of bits that used to be the morn on many cuts.......
Sadly that section appears to be all moorings now
And you know those 'lovely skimbos'...................
Well I sat having a pint at the hartley Arms overlooking the cut one summer evening last year.............there was a lull in the boat traffic - all the frying pans 'were on the go'.........and in that lull I saw a few proper 'slabs' come cruising down the section

Josh - get your google maps up and running with postcode ST19 9NF which is the Hartley Arms public house
About 50 yards to the left of it there is a right turning into Greenhill Lane
Follow that down for a couple of hundred yards until you see a left hand bend - on your right is Long Street. It's more of a 'track' really................follow that down to the bridge, cross it and swing to the left and park alongside the canal (the parking is hidden by the trees)
