Weeeee we are flying. :D :D

Just had BT Infinity installed and everything is wizzing along. 38 meg actual download and 8meg upload speeds.
Even got a 25% or so discount on the cost as I have some BT shares. Image Image

Got to go now to see what sites I can find to download stuff from. Image Image

You jammy bugger. I have got 20mb download and just over 1mb upload. I wish I had 8 meg upload would make running these site a lot easier and faster.
Download does not really matter too much.

Our exchange is due to get fibre ... FTTC status:
RFS date set : 01/06/2012, so not long to wait hehe  Image

Here is a few test sites I use Dave...

http://fuller.zen.co.uk/test/ (download the 100mb file and see what speed you get)

http://www.speedtest.net/ for a pretty accurate measure of things.  Image

You only need to own 1 share to get the benefits which would cost £2.15 plus dealing costs which are probably around £20 or so but they must be held in your name not a nominee account.
The package I got is free anytime landline phone calls plus Infinity Broadband. Normal cost would be £29.60 plus line rental per month but it is £21 for shareholders a saving of £8.60 a month
Would only take 3 months to get your money back and from then on you are saving over £100 a year over the standard BT cost.

Yeah I had that deal when we moved in to the flat. £21 per month.  Image
Been with BT a long time and they have always been very good to me.

My speeds are wireless atm, I might try and plug the lan cable in and see if I get anymore Image

Up until last year we could only get 512kbs here on adsl! Fine for web browsing but terrible for downloading anything.

Last year they enabled FTTC (Infinity) on our green box.

olly,i work for openreach as a field eng.not on the bb,but i do know your infinity should not be a "slight difference" mate, they have recorded speeds of upto 100 mg to the cab(green box) and only a 20% loss after that point(dont get excited as this gets capped),try plugging in your router into the main or test socket with all extensions disconnected, also check for any crackle on the line,if its still slow it may need an engineer to test line, speak to your service provider.,dont just accept it

Lee, I think Olly was  saying it tongue in cheek. He was getting 512kbps download now he has 37mbps download...   :D

I didn't know there were 100mbps speeds to the box though. Interesting  Image

Yes in certain areas you can already get 100 mbps with 15 mbps uploads for £35pm including weekend and evening calls plus line rental. Probably be available up your way around 2025. Image Image Image
