Nope, can't say I ever heard of him. Good job he didn't fish!
The only chance I ever had of seeing him would have been on my all too rare trips to Stafford Rangers.
Talking of Stafford Rangers they produced many a top class league player, Stan Cullimore was one, a mate of mine (he don't fish) Keith Mottershead played for Doncaster but goalkeepers were Rangers speciality, Jim Arnold (Everton and Blackburn) Melia Aleksic (Plymouth the Spurs and someone else?) The latest is Ben Foster.
They needed to be good goalies at Stafford Rangers to keep the score down.
Lee Chapman was the son of the Rangers manager Roy Chapman years back. I used to print the Rangers programme and Lee used to bring me his dads notes when I was in printing.
Never forget it, every other week he would march in and promptly nick my sweets out of my work drawer. I got a key and padlock on it to stop him.... Happy days........I often wonder if he remembers that, I suppose he would have been 10 or 11 then.

Best footballers ever
I remember a guy named Bill Frew who played in goals for Stafford Rangers. He stopped four penalties in one match once and they still got stuffed by a cricket score

What you have to weigh up here lads is loads of different factors, imagine putting some of these so called great players in a different team or league in another time for instance messi and maradonut in 60s english div 1 they would be home to thier mums by half time. The pitches were mostly mud baths for half the season, the ball weighed 5 times wet as it did dry,the rules have completely changed since then, and these so called modern greats wouldnt be that great being tackled by messrs Hunter, Harris and co, for a start the referee would not blow up every time a gust of wind blew them over they are over protected, if you wernt tackled with the ball then anybody would look good. Zidane is probably the only player from the modern era that could have played at any time, a lot of continentals are on their wobbly cheeks more than not to gain advantage , so having said this George Best is the only choice anyone who has watched football over a long time would pick ,speed 10 skill 10 ability to carry on when someones trying to break his leg 10 cheat factor 0 . Bobby Moore a close second ,followed by the Kaiser and then by Pele and Cruyff.

Remind you of anyone in the poll? But better
Thanks TK
Zico was top class but not good enough to get on the poll in my honest opinion mate. Football is all about fans different opinions and loyalties which is what makes the game so great (FIFA APART ! )
