The annual Chrity Match on the macc Canal is now on Saturday 26th March. Will put more details up as and when.
The Macclesfield Canal Championships is also being resurrected; I think they are looking for a date in September; more details as and when again.

There used to be a boat peg joff at snails bridge , the boat hasnt been there last couple of years i drew it a few years ago and had an interesting match to say the least ...... lost 2 carp (one at the net) and 2 or 3 chub all on very light roach rigs , put a proper rig in and you couldnt get a bite ! It was roach a bung aswell ...... solid !!!! lol
Oh, i played a 3lb plus chub for 30 minutes on 0.06 and 2s latex and landed it in overtime to come third in match with 6lb i think :D

Its like fishing an AMERICANNO, in Italy/France when the anglers fish side by side
seriously though if you can get your head around the cosy pegging
its pretty o,k

It's much the same as the canals round here.
Bread, squatt and caster.
As Murf says, leave your handkerchief at home, - you can reach the next guy's pocket without moving.

Its your very natural narrow /shallow canal with a central track and near and far shelves ,
there are a couple of wide bays ( i aint seen these, yet)
its naturall tow path with not many parts tinned, so you may need wellies footplate etc, as you need to get in to the water
the depthes are typical canal depths , with top three rigs surfice,
hope that little bit helps Gareth if you like cut fishin, you will enjoy it mate ,
good turn out good bannter raffle prizes etc after match awards
get ya name down lad, top day

Yepp top day out this match ........ i always enjoy it !
Draw anywhere in B , C and D sections and your in for a nice days fishing , i just take a bit of liccy and a handfull of casters
I am now having a 2 week break so really looking forward to this match when it comes around , the people who run it do a great job and the pegging is now much better than it used to be a few years ago
