Big thanks to all today; really enjoyed it. Well done to all the winners and Joff's raffle supplies.
Special well done to TK, - top job.
Venue fished really well, bit tough on Herbie, all the debris got stuck on his peg.
Big thanks to Budgie for finding me a perch in his motor, top company.
Big thanks as well for Dodge.
Don't think he could have stood us Stokies thrashing another A R S E nal twice in the same day

Many Thanks to TK for his usual impeccable running of the match, Heinzer and KOD for pegging out, and Simps for running the excellent website
Oh and not forgetting Jonah for treating everybody to the two Blowtorch jobs
I forgot to leave a donation with you Simps, so I will pass it on to Gem in the shop mate.
Nice to meet some new faces (Joffie, Herbie Tosh) and a particularly old one who I havent seen for years and it never gets any better (Billyards)
Thought the turnout to support the site was excellent, and a credit to the members

Well thanks to Dead Peg’s prowess with the blow torch on the gunged up lock, access was finally realised to the lower Fishley Lane section of the Cashmores waters on the Wyrley & Essington Canal.
With all through the gates in a timely manner, KOD headed off north to drop 12 pegs in on the Wides upto the radar gate, whilst I traipsed off with Heinzer to peg the lower section with another 12
Secretly I think all wanted to draw the wides – scene of many bumper pleasure session weights, but we all know ‘match fishing’ is a different kettle of fish...........particularly as their was a devish wind blowing plus we’d had torrential downpour all night – just what sort of mood would we catch the cut in today?
The draw done and I expected to be on last peg in the bag, 6 – a ‘flyer. Only thing was, Heinzer had miscounted the heads – there was only 23 of us, and peg 6 never ended up in the bag anyway. So I copped for the other ‘last’ peg in the bag 17.
As I passed Bill Yards, first peg in our section, Joffie was traipsing back – he’s been so eager he’d headed the wrong way. As all three of had a bit of banter, I was heartened by fish topping in Bill’s peg – on his 3 mtr line
Now on arrival at my peg, I was uncertain what to expect – usually that part of the section is not particularly ‘loved’ by club members, but I’ve walked it and seen plenty of fish in the canals clear waters
To my left I had KOD.......... I’m sure he’s waving to me. Beyond him is Larry Teepot
To my right was Cheslyn Boy and the Budgie
The 10am off soon arrived............so lines fed and a first look in on the punch............the float dips, a lift, and fish on.
But this aint a small silver and for a moment I’m thinking I might be in trouble with the fine wire hook. Within 2 minutes of the match starting I’ve got a couple of lb in the net......a 2lb bream. Cheslynboy aint even finished feeding yet.
For the next hour and 15 mins I’m catching steady............no more lumps, but plenty of small roach, rudd and 2 oz skimmers. But then shock, horror...............
A BOAT.................we never see any on our cut. It passed steady but was obviously right over that 6mtr punch line. It didn’t churn any colour, but after that, could I buy a bite off that line – could I diddly squatt.
Thankfully I’d been firtling pinckie and caster across, and looking over there, I had a steady run of rudd and small roach.
Hearing of a few lumps hooked and lost – incl Cheslynboy to my right who lost a bream at the net, then got his hook straightened, I kept trying to kickstart that punchline but to no avail.
Stretching the legs, I took a snap or two........
Here’s Cheslynboy doing a Roy Orbison impersonation
Now now Gem – you aint gunna minx anyone standing there chatting up Budgie
And here’s The Whip – he got seen off a couple of times, on 6lb the last time
At the end of the section, was Bill the bagging machine having loads of silvers on his beloved punch
On the bridge, looking back at Bill Yards
A look at the favoured ‘breezy’ wides
On the wides, Simps was smiling with a few lb in the net...............shame about them legs Snowie
Walking back to my peg, another look on the punch and nowt
So a few more photos of those ‘down south’
First was Larry Teepot
OBI was ‘flying; with a fish a chuck, but no stampers
Gem had returned to try to add to the minx list
Is Dan the man, hanging onto his cap or scratching his head what to do next?
The Wedge has had a few according to the rumour mill
Oh no................it’s them legs again
Getting back to 17................looks like I’m in trouble............KODs snared this 4lb beastie
Time to get the head down again. Nowt down that track,
but a few fish from across are gladly swung in
Anyway, time for the tale of the scales.............and despite a few DNW’s there was only one ‘real’ dry net – as even the odd 4lb bream was tipped back

After being fishing all day at Rolfs and then driving home and not getting back till 9pm my match started at 11pm last night tying some rigs for the cut after realizing I had broke all my cut rigs down. I think my normal Rolfs rigs would have been a tad too much for down the cut.
7.15 and the alarm goes off and Gem does not want to get up lol. After finally getting her out of the pit we leave for the the short journey to Fishley lane.
Pulling up to the gate where we were meeting there is already al long line of cars awaiting Heinzer who has the keys to the gate. Heinzer is soon there and were all in and parked up raring to go.
Some old and new faces gathered ready to go.
Bloody good turn out
What a hansome bloke indeed
Everyone thought TK was selling some dodgey dvd's out of his car boot
Dan the man and Herbie checking out the waves on the cut
A jolly green Giant holding a tin of Jolly Green Giant
Obie and Budgie looking guilty
The canal had waves on it due to a very strong wind
TK, supreme match organiser wondering what peg we have left in the bag for him
On to the match. I had drawn peg 10 which was on the wides and the wind was howling through. To my left I had new forum member Jay. Nice to meet you mate, thanks for coming along. To my right I had Mr Turnip. Ideally I wanted to fish 11-12meters but the wind only allowed me to fish 10. So I set up 3 lines, one at 10 o'Clock one at 12 o'clock and one at 2 o'clock.
On the all in I cupped out a ball of groundbait laced with squatt on all my lines. I started on caster but soon changed to double pinkie as I was getting no indications. As soon as the double pinkie settled the float sailed away and not with the wind this time. Small roach for my first fish and it was in pristene condition. It made me smile because its very different from the normal 8lb carp I have been catching recently.
After the first hour I had 3 roach, 7 rudd, 7 skimmers (biggest was about 6oz) and a perch. So I topped up all the swims with some more GB. I had caught a fish from each swim but the 2 o'clock swim was producing more fish so I concentrated on that. After feeding I dropped the double pinkie down and the float buried, upon striking I felt more resistance and watched my green num 6 lacky come streaming out the topkit and then a golden black slab flop to the surface. After a short battle I landed a nice 4lb bream in tip top condition.
After that the bites dried right up and I only managed 4 more roach and 2 more big bream. But I was more than happy just to have caught those bream.
I needed a waz and decided to have a short break and go and have a chat with Mr V and Heinzer.
Mr V had just landed a nice big tench
Heinzer was also itching to fish longer but the wind was stopping him also
Some tourists coming to the UK had heard that Bill Yards and Joffy were fishing and asked the pilot to do a fly-by
Walking back to my peg Mr Turnip had just landed a slab
The all out was called and I thought I had about 8lb lol But knew I had not won as rumours on the grape vine were saying Wedge had 20lb+
On to the weigh in.....
A tench making a run for it, he thought the puddle was the cut
Joffy with his after hours Tench lol
Si with his second half Tinca. He had tipped back and then started fishing again, bloody clown lol
At this point my camera batteries died but Gem was on hand to take some pics on her phone, Thanks Gem
Me and my 8lb, ok so I was a bit out
TK and his section winning net
Bill Yards and a cracking net of Roach on the punch
Some yobs on the bridge
After the weigh in it was back to Harrisons club for a pint and a very well organised BBQ. People had brought raffle prizes and had arranged a raffle with the proceeds going towards the site. I was gobsmacked and still am at that gesture, Thanks so much.
Budgie, after one hour in the match he had rang me and told me he had about 7lb, crappity smacking lyer pmsl
Todays winner, Wedge. Well done mate
The elite BBQ team
Greedy Bugger, some people had 5 burgers
Dead Pegs burger was made from a cow with Mad Cow Disease I think
Joffy, on his 5th burger
Poor Gem went home £1 lighter. Sorry babe
Section Winners now....
A section Winner. Joffy. Well done.
I won B section....
C Section Winner, TK. Well done
Overall and D Section winner. Mr Wedge. Well done
I had a great day despite the inclement weather. Really nice to meet everyone again.
Thanks to everyone for supporting the site. Sign me up for the next one TK....Pleeeease can we fish those sections again hehe.
