I actually thought the previous Chat Room was OK. and far more user friendly than the present Chat Box. 
As for a Shout Box, you know my views, there's no quicker way to kill a forum's post count, which will drag a forum down. :(

I quite like having a chat with some of the northerners like Dodge and Drynet. So I would be happy having the old one back. But we do need something to tell us when someone is in there.
