Here in Ireland on canals, the fish crappity smack off to the end peg,or gaps,or even the space in between anglers, where they feel safe, until they are ready to feed, then move back into the fed swims actively seeking food, then it becomes a fish a chuck, often late on.crappity smack knows why they suddenly kick in but sometimes, with continual feeding, the peg goes from completely barren to a situation that you can not get in fast enough.
When i fished canals in England,in team matches ect i believed the fish stayed in front of me for the full 5 hours-
resident fish if you like. Now looking back i think they did/do the same thing-crappity smack off!
So feeding punch for 4 hrs to have a brill last hour,i think
equates to feeding a stick float line on a river to have a good last hour.On a river, esp with bankside disturbance
& everybody feeding a stick line,i think the fish crappity smack off
& theres none in your peg,i used to think theres loads there
in front of you,but ignoring the feed till that last hour, now i think they go,but remember where theres a source of food
& come back on that line, when they are ready to feed, actively looking for food, come right on top of the feed
& you bag up
anyway, thats just my theory, prob a load of old tosh

What is it that actually set's these bread men apart........guess it aint anyone thing, but a combination of many
1 reason is the bread is fed as the main or only line of attack(fed where they think the fish live) where as someone who catches mainly on squatt will feed g/b where they expect to catch and bread line as a throw away

Of course it's 1 reason Bill,ok 1 of many but if you look at anglers who are talked about as the best of a certain bait they mainly fish that bait on their main line.
