must say chaps iv fished some big matches, plenty of club matches and countless opens but i have really enjoyed fishing these grueller matches this winter (even though it has been the coldest in 20 so years) that little bit more...... ive meet some great blokes and will have something to look forwards to next winter............. it doesn't cost a fortune (unless you hire mini buses) and everyone seems to go with the same frame of mind.... to enjoy the company, have a laugh and enjoy the sport............. well done TK and cheers lads Image.................. oh and if you do happen to peg next to blues4eva next match, fill it in........... not that im competative or anythin Image

the ice was much thicker down our end and the few bites i did have which was about a dozen (6 landed,3 teeny tiny roach came off ,,hook was bigger than them and 3 missed bites) so it wasnt really that much better just better quality i think.it is nice to see the punch doin ok-ish against the b&j boys, alsoevery bite came from up tight against the ice ,come a few inches off and nowt so they must off been sittin just under it for cover i presume.
but i have really enjoyed fishing these grueller matches this winter

its been a long time since i ventured out this early in the year but couldnt agree more (old bones n that) will certainley try and fish a few next year Image
looking forward to whooping obi sunday on our first match, see if i can jinx him Smiley Smiley

yet again i've found the time to read your write up TK and the boys  Image Imageits a real pleasure reading it the every day decisions you have to make or not Imagei started out at a club QUORN AS a great bunch of lads and you lot remind me of it so much  Image Image
TK  the canal we are fishing at the minute seams to be like that one if you are on skimmers you usually catch them straight away after feeding your punch i think they must come straight to it and most of the lads put a bigger piece of punch on to start with  Imageit might of been worth a try mate

Joffie - as well as the punch, think I might move into CWH mode this Sat and drag a worm about - Mick Hatchard usually finds a bonus lump on the cut when he ventures on it :D

A question for you Joffie re feeding 'nuts and bolts'.........do any of the guys end up 'snagging on' their 'feed' and moving it - possibly back to the towpath Image when dragging a worm around in the vicinity of the 'feed' Image

it can be a problem but normally you twitch it over it rather than drag it from side to side it really is a last resort i little bit of redworm normally Image
