sensas challange final
this years sensas final is on the 20th/21st of march with 24 of the top teams in the country taking part this year all the pegs are at packington sommers spread over all the lakes SENSAS 28 will be over from France along with all the current England squad if you have never watched a cips match before its well worth going to watch
this year you will be able to fish barbed hooks up to a size 18 above 16 it must be barbless
fishing times will be Saturday 12pm to 4pm
Sunday 11am to 3pm
i have spoken to mark downes and there are NO PELLETS to be used in G/B although in world champs you are allowed to put pellets in G/B i personally think its a good idea as someone would be tempted to put one on the hook

dodge thats the charity match isn't it i'd of come up for that
lloydy there is a practice match on the 14th BUT i'm sure you won't be able to us B/J on that day
the french are over thursday or friday so if you want to practice with B/J i think you will be allowed thursday and friday i can't see the point of doing that perhaps not many will

johnb Posted: 08 March 2010 21:03:21
my mistake molands ,gearys and little gearys are definately being used with 2 from either willow, siblings or annies.the 2 that perform best in practice match will most likely go in but mark downes will decide.
thanks nige glad somebody reads our reports.

REPORT
MOLANDS Last week the bulk of the fish sat between pegs 13 and 25 and anglers fishing there had big catches of mainly F1’s but a few carp and skimmers were also being caught. Derek Hartshorne, a fishery regular had 130 F1’s on pole and pellet with fish to 1½ lb and he had an estimated 80lb catch. On the other areas it has been hard with skimmers and roach being caught on the long pole or waggler with red maggot or pinkies on the hook.
GEARYS It has been skimmers and bream that have made up the catches this week with only a handful of carp caught which is not surprising as the pool has been frozen over most mornings but cleared by mid morning. Pole fished pellet or red maggot over ground bait has been the best tactic with ground bait feeder a good back up. Fish are being caught from all around the pool but the high bank from pegs 7 – 12 has been the most consistent area.
LITTLE GEARYS Despite the very cold temperatures Little Gearys has been in reasonable form over the last week with catches in matches to 30lb and pleasure anglers exceeding that. Pole fished pellet or caster and a small open end feeder are the best tactics. The far side from pegs 8 – 15 have been best for the new F1’s and skimmers with pegs 28 – 30 providing a bigger stamp of F1’s with fish to 5lb.
GRATUITIES Harder this week with the fish congregating around pegs 1 – 3 and 11 – 15. Bread punch or maggot fished on the straight lead or waggler out to the island has worked best for carp to 5lb and tench to 3lb.
WILLOW First choice for a lot of anglers, Willow has been very consistent this week providing plenty of skimmers, roach, F1’s and the odd carp to 8lb. Small expander pellet, caster or maggot has been the top baits and all pegs are good for a few fish.
ANNIVERSARIES The lawn area or the point at the top end have been the best areas for skimmers to 2lb, crucians, brown goldfish and the odd tench to 5lb. Caster or pellet is working best.
