what do you do?
We had a situation yesterday where a member of the organising club shouted all in and fed 10 minutes before he should have, knowing the guy i am certain it was a genuine mistake.
I have actually done the same but at the end of the match, My phone clock was two minutes fast so I shouted all in at 9.58 and all out at 14.50

knowing the guy it would of been an honest mistake, he could of been told not to start till say 10.15, no need for all the fuss about it

I haven't put this thread up to discuss whether he was right or wrong or the after effects of it.
I put it up to find a solution if it ever happens on a team match of mine.

what do you do?
for the future one guy in the section should call the start....same one should end it...seems simple to me. .....all sections would end within a few moments of each other but will have been the duration of the match..
of course this is just my opinion

For what its worth .......
There is no way he would of done it on purpose, he has this hanging over him now and it aint right poor bloke. Every match angler has made mistakes at some time or another, thats all it was ...... a simple mistake ! Give the lad a break ffs !

Like i said earlier its not about what has happened (genuine mistake and no one has said anything different) its about finding a solution should it happen again.

OK, I heard about this straight away and I am on very good terms with the guy that was disqualified and that will always be as far as I am concerned.
The answer is quite simple, I know no intent was made but under no circumstances should he have decided the time to start the match. It is an unfortunate disqualification and that is that.
I once got got disqualified in one of my own matches; I fished the wrong peg by accident. You must go by the Rules that is what they are there for, come what may. If you try and twist Rules you are making a rod for your own back.
These comments are supplied without any bias whatsoever as I aint fishing the League.

what do you do?
bill is right i thought it was saturdays match where i would of let it go as a mistake but a winter league is a different kettle of fish and i'm sure if lee says its a genuine mistake i'm 100% thats right but in a match of that importance where you have 80 anglers fishing for points the organisers should of stated that who ever is on the scales also stewards there section and this means starting and finishing the match we had some trouble in our first winter league where a angler fished the wrong peg nobody wanted to disqualify the angler but if you don't stick to the rules of the league it will open a whole can of worms [well you let him off so you've got to do the same] i still can't get it through to anglers to start and finish the matches now >:(and at the end of the day some of your section could quiet easily have 5 or 10 minutes extra on the natural river where pegs are spread out and how many chub could that be or hemp roach
rule are rules but how many anglers know them 95% are onist but 5% will always try and pinch a inch and then a mile

Dead on Joff. In these bizarre incidents anyone or any match organiser can not put themselves above the Rules.
All Rules in any sport are there to see fair play, whether it is an accident or not. Rules were introduced by 'incidents' in the first place.
I feel very sorry for the angler concerned and I know it was not done with any malice intended. It has happened before and it will happen again; the Rule is there to cover it.

Bloody hell if you lot was running the F.A every match would have to be replayed on monday , if it was me i would have had every body upto the next break in the match ie bridge start there match and finish by his time ie 10 mins early , people need to remember that this is a hobby not a proffesional sport so chill out and give the guy a break
what do you do?
joff he was from the organizing club and on the scales, as far as i know he had been asked (by the main organizer) to call the all in for that area
