Owing to the after effects of a dodgy tummy and cooler weather, I'll give this one a miss T K. You seem to have a strong team. I wish you all the best of luck.
Following the announcement of the TA squad to do battle with TK’s Harrisons team, Paddy Power Bookmakers Ltd have reported a recent flood of monies and now have shortened the TA team odds to 4/1 on.
Such was the size of some of the recorded bets, it was originally thought that an East Asian betting cartel were involved. This idea has now been discounted and it is believed just to be a flood of monies by confident Midland punters certain of a rousing teapot victory on Saturday.
Captain Teepot was tracked down to his Brumie lair, where he has spent the last 12 months scheming and plotting the downfall of the Harrison team.
‘Last year we naively allowed our team to be intimidated by prematch talk that Harrisons were going to employ tactics where their noted big fish men, the likes of The Shark, were going all out for expected 50lb plus weights.
Falling into that trap, and trying to match the Harrisons tactics, my team instructions to fish hair rigged 3inch square cubes of meat just was not the right method on the day. That day was the lowest ebb of my world renowned angling career to date, one which I’ll never allow to be repeated.'
'This year, with the squad I’ve assembled I can’t see any weak links or chinks in our armour. I’m confident of walking every section. We are invincible. Anything less - for example an 8 section win from the 9 possible - would be seen as a hollow victory in my eyes - we have to put this Harrisons team to the sword and show no mercy in the process.’
‘In fact, the book makers odds are no surprise at all to us at TA and 4 to 1 on is too generous……….I expect this to shorten down to around 10/1 on within the next few hours . I’m just glad I managed to mortgage the house and have a £250k punt at evens money. ‘
Larry’s right hand man, Brian G is believed to expect to win even more on the day, with a similar stake but secured at odds of 2/1
Controversy has always surrounded last years result, a rout for the TA team as the Harrisons team went on to win every section.
In fact the controversy still rages on today, talk of alleged draw fixing - although this has been proven to be unfounded, Harry the Hitman being a double agent and being on the Harrisons payroll whilst feeding captain Larry teapot duff info in the lead up to the match as well as his other subversive actions on the day such as towing barges down the cut on his waggler rig.
Our best news desk reporters were unable to track down any of the Harrisons squad today.
Meanwhile, Larry Teepot has all of his squad on 8 hour shifts mounted on the venue watching every move, as there has already been the suggestion of a threat from TK that he will have the fishing zone netted before hand in what many consider to be a last ditch futile attempt by Harrisons to halt the slaughter that Teepot demands from his team on Saturday.
The sporting world holds it’s breath as this story could just run and run………………….
watched chap from TA by wood lane bridge today called blues forever, was on the phone giving info to some one could that have been Teepot gettin a bit nervous
As the big mtach draws near Larry Teepot 'poured' his heart out to his right hand man about the torture of the last 11 months. That day was a sad day as Teepot's troops simply collapsed under pressure and were the victim of their own propoganda. One man sent pulses racing last year and this was the shark who fished a delightful match bamboozling all those TA onlookers. Not much has been heard of the shark since then, aside the rumours of a Saudi property investment in Bewd, he has kept a low profile but is determined to stand in the way of anyone who wants to beat him( just ask Sprucey when taking pics of TK at the cut last week).
Shark, clad in two pairs of socks, a thick pair of trousers, two thick pullovers, padded scarf, snow gloves and a bolshevik style woolly hat defied the odds and the smile on his face could be seen for miles, he even put in appearance at Harrison's club later that night to meet his beloved fan base.
The memories of last year still live large in teepot's mind, He's sick of people 'spouting' off about this and is eager for revenge, but Shark had just a few words when asked about the opposing gaffer last weekend
' Who's Larry Teepot? i've never heard of him'
Light the blue touch paper let battle commence !!!!
no need to reply larry its nerves. your getting to them, that week spent with fergy is working well yamo hasnt slept all week and tk,s on prozak i will bring the 8mm pellets as instructed o capitan
Following militant action within the baking industry, reports are coming through that the 11 major bread producers in the country are to close from 7pm tonight for at least 3 days following mass walk outs of staff across the country.
It is uncertain at this moment what instigated the walkouts, but it is believed to originated in the Midlands and escalated to all of the rest of the country following the sacking of a character only known as ‘The Shark’
Paddy Power Bookmakers Ltd report that odds on a TA victory over a TK Harrisons team moved slightly back out from the 7/ 1 on to 5/1 on following earlier brisk betting.
This follows earlier coinciding reports that supermarket shelves were stripped of loaves before the walkouts.
Certain circles believe the Harrisons team have stockpiled supplies and it is unlikely that the TA team will now be able to prepare sufficient quantities of ‘licky’ bread, supposedly a killer bait that will play a profound influence on the coming match this weekend.
calm deep breaths...relax....i have never heard such twaddle....you are going down full stop......i have had no reports back from anyone fishing...only just remembered the venue has changed to be honest .....but we will find what ever venue you choose......this team has assembled it self but you have to agree......ITSAWESOME
Shares in Unilever, producers and distributors of Potnoodle, hit a 15 year record high today as the company reported record sales, totally unprecedented over the last 7 days.
A Company spokesperson reported ‘Sales have been astronomical in the last week. We’ve been unable to cope with the demands from all the major supermarkets for further stocks this week. We’re are perplexed why the sudden demand, and it’s across all flavours, which in itself is unusual.’
Whilst the accountants at Unilever may be perplexed, sources close to Sky believe this stripping of the product from all supermarket shelves may have arisen following a ‘loose’ comment from a Harrisons team member.
The unnamed team member is believed to have been having remarkable nets of fish during practice sessions for the now annual and highly acclaimed ‘TA v Harrisons’ angling match using the noodle as bait.
Instead of keeping the results of the practice secret, it is reported that he carelessly divulged that he had been using the bait, albeit not the flavour.
But before any of the TA team thinks about dipping into the larder to find any old pots hidden away, apparently the flavour is critical. Not all potnoodle flavours work as a feed or hook bait. Rather conversely in fact as in trials all but one flavour were found to be fish repellent which cause the shoals of fish to disperse from the peg they are introduced into.
larry i have the 240 tins of corn you wanted do you still want the 28kg of 11mm pellets and the 300 tins of meat on the day or should i deliver it to everyones home so tk dont see what were up to. woops larry i thought this was TA.
