Got to the venue at 7.45 and went into the Horns pub for a brekky, after that went and had a look round the pool. It was nice and calm.
At the draw I drew peg 2 which is know to be a good peg, my wheels were nearly on fire on my trolley going round   :D
After a look I decided to fish at 13 meters and 9 meters as the fish are normally out rather than in close. I set up shallow and margin rigs too.
The platforms here are great. My peg....

To my left and Tinky's best mate in the world  :P

At the all in I cupped out a pot of pellets and hemp with a few grains of corn on both long lines and started on a hardish hook pellet. Got a bite right away, it was a nice bream for 1-2lb. I had a few more bream and the bites dried up so I cupped out some more bait but the fish had gone  :(
Tried the 9 meter line and not a sniff, so I tried the waggler which I had also set up and I was getting bites but could not hit them. So I tried the margin which I didn't think would be any good and I was right   :D
So back out on the 13 meter line and the break had done it good, More skimmers and then the carp moved in. I got a visit from Mr and Mrs TK too who came out for a stroll. He helped me catch another carp by telling me to cup some more feed in lol..  Image I had a nice tench too and finished up the 20lb 8oz which was quite poor really.
The scales started round my side and I walked round with them knowing not many people had caught, but was it enough  Image
I was getting the nets out and one did get me worried.....

Image

He weighed 18lb summat. We continued round and I was only worried about 2 more people, Tommo and Sprucey. Tommo weighed 18lb also, Only one to go....
Well he beat me  :( by 5lb. As usual he caught alot of silvers which is what he is deadly at doing. I had been watching him and thought it was going to be close. So well done to Andy Spruce for di*king me  Image Image
I finished second but won my section. A really enjoyable match after yesterdays windy ballacher  :)

The shy winner who don't like having his picture taken, Andy Spruce............

And here's Tinky Winky knackering up a good peg like only he can  :D :D Image He weighed 11lb summat.  Image

Cheers lads.
Some goldfish were caught and I saw some big ones topping and jumping out the water.
That pool has got some crazy fish in it for sure. I had a nice ghostie and something that I'm not sure what it was. Crucian crossed with something else, he gave a good scrap and bent my 175 hook which are quite strong.  :o :-?

Oh and TK, you could have brought a pint down with you, I could have had a slurp :P

Well if the brekky was anything to go by you would have had to have 2 meals just to fill you up Image
A pint would have gone down a treat, next time I might go up and get one or two :D

Its a long walk back from the bar, round the side of the pub, down the track, thru the locked gate, then you drew the furthest end of the pool............I'd have either spilt it by the time I got to you (or it might have evaporated by then!!!) :D
