Walsall Canal, Great Bridge
With the temperature over 25 degrees it was sun tans all round on the Portacabins and Moors Mill lane sections of the Walsall canal.
Leading on a day where 2/3's of the field weighed in 5lb+ was Tipton drawbag Richard Guest with a catch of lots of small skimmers to 10oz on pinkie and squatt from peg 97 in the bay at Moors Mill Lane.
second from a peg on the cabins was Ben Garbett who added some late roach on hemp to his otherwise skimmer net.
Richard Guest (Fox Match Tipton Van den Eynde) 12-13-4,
Ben Garbett (HanKat AS) 9-2-6;
Darren Massey (Shakespeare) 8-4-6;
Paul Bick (Shakespeare) 8-0-0;
Bruce Birch (Wednesfield Wonders) 7-3-7;
Fred Cheetham (Team Eclipse) 7-2-6.
After leading for most of the series Tipton slipped to third on the day leaving the door open for Shakespeare to clinch the title by 1 point.
Teams: Shakespeare 22;
Team Eclipse 21;
Fox Tipton Van den Eynde 18;
Wednesfield Wonders 17;
HanKat AS and Wolves AA both 13.
Final League:
Shakespeare 163;
Fox Match Tipton Van den Eynde 162;
Team Eclipse 156;
HanKat AS 143;
Wednesfield Wonders 130;
Wolves AA 118.

Only 6 teams of 5 this year Jeff but it has been competative.
I'd rather fish a 30 match than a 12 peg match which seems to be the case these days.
We paid out very little in overall team money and no team money on the day.
Overall i think most have enjoyed it with a few fish caught, a few beers in the pub after each match, no moaning and ALL the matches have been fished in a good friendly manner........
And i got to meet Joff and took a Mars bar of him!
