What's the latest on Marsh matches this year Dave with Match fishing being given the green flag from March 29th?

Hi Josh,
spoke with Dave the other day. He is slowly coming out of hibernation and will be booking further venues any time now.
In the meantime the plan is that 10th April Monk Lake 1 will be our first match of the season unless the rules change again.

Dave will also be posting about membership subs etc before then.

First match will be Monk lake 1 on 10th April. There are several places I need to get out and see to try and get some new venues sorted but others are being booked.

Club funds are very depleted after last year and my initial calculations suggest that Subs of £40 upfront and £10 per match which would include increased pools of £3. Guests will be £15. I hope everyone is happy with that but if anyone has any financial difficulties due to Covid then please have a word with me or Tony in confidence.

I have been informed that Colemans Cottage have restarted taking match bookings but at £12 per peg.

What are people’s views on booking a match there, if so which lake.

Me and Jim are good for the 10th April
I think the Subs are fine - we did subsidise a couple of venues quite heavily last year.
Yeah - would be up for Colemans again especially as our pool (no pun intended) of potential venues has bee shrinking.
Dont mind which lake although if pushed I would say Woods.

Hi! TBC on whether I’ll be joining or paying guest fees yet, as lots of dates in the diary and a busy year already. Once we have some venues booked in I can confirm.

Would definitely be up for fishing Woods and Stepfield - not sure if it’s stepfield old or new but the first lake you come to on your left after turning right before the clubhouse car park, the one we fished the year before last.

In terms of other venues, Claygate on Lake EVA & Orchard Lakes 5 & 6 would probably be top of my list - happy to help out getting things booked in, just give me a shout if you need a hand!

Hi Mr C just looking at the venues for this year and Southend Farm isnt
on the list. I wouldnt mind another go on Damsel lake if thats ok with
everyone and is possible

Mick - Dave tried Southend Farm a week or so back and got a rather curt 'no bookings available' response. We thought maybe we'd got them on an off day so I tried again today requesting specific dates - all very pleasant, the fella said he had taken over in January 2021, but I still got "no Saturdays or Sundays available till 2022" we're just fully booked. I pressed again and still got the same reply. So all a bit of a mystery, as normally we have no trouble getting Saturday bookings anywhere, but as it stands sadly no Southend Farm this year.
