How times change.
2 years ago 10 of us had two 300lb+, five 200lb+ and one 100lb+ weights and a total of c1900lb of fish.
Today just 9 fished and Keith recorded the only ton (108lb) to register a good win; in total we posted just under 500lb.
Make no mistake, the overall level of skill in the club has continued to improve in those two years. The difference, once again imho, is down to the pressure on the lakes, with many carpers, bivvies and pleasure anglers thronging the banks from early on. Its been the same everywhere this year.
2nd today was Chris with 91lb and 3rd John with 73lb. Well done to all our framers.
While Keith managed to keep fish coming throughout the match, for many of us it was the last hour or so that saved our blushes.
Result:
1. Keith peg 2; 108-00lb
2. Chris T peg 7; 91-08lb
3. John H peg 6; 73-04lb
4. Terry peg 5; 56-08lb
5. Jim peg 4; 43-08lb
6. Dave peg 9; 41-04lb
7. Tony R peg 8; 41-00lb
8. Clive peg 3; 27-12lb
9. Rod peg 1; 13-00lb
As usual we were on the spit today - with our pegging, so peg 1 at the start of the right hand bank going clockwise round to 9 on the other side , with 5 at the far end.
Sections: 1-4 Keith (£8), 5-9 Chris T (£10) to be deducted from future match fees.
