The practice match for the 1st round of the Oxford winter league was fished by 31 anglers on the Thames at Abingdon and Culham. After midweek frosts and the Thames once again having very little flow then the match was always going to be a hard one for most but a few skimmers and roach did show.
st Tim Nix - ISIS - 16lb 10oz. Tim drew opposite Wilsham road in Abingdon and had skimmer bream on a open end feeder and worm on the hook.
nd Martin Kirk - Sensas A4 - 14lb 10oz.Martin drew on the last peg in the rushes at Culham and had mainly roach on 13m pole and maggot over groundbait feed.
rd Mark Bowerman - Sensas A4 - 11lb 15oz. Mark was also opposite Wilsham road and had roach on the pole and caster over groundbait feed.
th Tony Hobbs - Drennan Oxford - 11lb 13oz
