Weir field, Holme Marsh.

#1

Unread post by Arch »

Iv'e got a few days off soon and fancied a go at the Bream in the weir field. 1) Is it day ticket ?? 2) Can you buy them on the bank ?? 3) Where's the best place to park ??

Cheers,

Arch. :thumsup

Hi Arch
It is day ticket, worksop and district, have a look for their web site
I think if you can get hold of the bailiff he will open the gate for you, if not its a good long walk, you will find the info on the web site
To get to the gate drive into holme village, you will come to a t junction, turn right and drine to the gate ,there's room on the right hand side of the gate to park up
There's a worksop sign on the gate, I will see if I can put a link up to Google maps

Cheers for the info DB. :thumsup

Iv'e had a good look on Google earth. Is/would it be possible to park up at the Collingham carpark below the weir and walk upstream to the weir field ?? A bit naughty i suppose, but is it doable ??

How would i go about getting hold of the bailiff ??

Edit: Googled Worksop and the site doesn't seem to be there.

Arch, Worksop's site was there earlier on in the season because I thought about joining, but I cannot find it either now
This is from the go angling page
River Trent, Holme, Newark, Notts
Barbel and bream bags to over 100lb featuring in catches here with the groundbait feeder working well.
Contact: Worksop DAA, 01909 486350
Prices: £4 a day on the bank, Worksop DAA

I am not sure you can gain access from collingham car park, but I supposeif you can , it will be quicker than walking from holme village

If I go i'll give that number a ring. :thumsup

Just worked out the distance from Holme it's self with some old Mapping software iv'e got. 1.6km. Thats a mile in old money. :o :o
I don't mind walking, but thats probably a tad too far.

Yes it would DB.

Went for a ride over at the weekend, took the Missus and our two Lurchers. (I know how to treat a woman) You can't get from the Collingham side due to a great big effing fence. Don't know why it's there TBH and not much of a walk either. Spoke to one of the lads fishing, he said if you walk from Holme, it's about a mile and five gates to negotiate. Unless you can catch the bailiff who will open them for you. Don't know what happens when it's time to leave though ??

Not going to bother, it's 100 mile round trip and then a tab to get to the Bream pegs. Worksop are running some opens, may sign up for one of those instead. Will see.
