Botty I think your match report was as good as any found in the Anglers Mail mate ;)

Nice that someone takes the time to put the winner on :)

Botty,

I wouldn't get too disillusioned with the current crop of low turnouts, this sort of thing happens and will be happening elsewhere too.

I have run all types of contests over a good many years and you will find some venues fall out of favour then get popular again, it is part of life.

Around where I live you can not even buy pinkies and squats to fish the canal which is right on my doorstep!

I have put your results on the C&RT website since it started with the odd forthcoming dates and reports. I have done this voluntary and obtained them directly off this website.

You will find anglers will come back, it may take time. At this time of year you will find a lot have holidays, take a break from fishing, concentrate for a few weeks on commercials or practising for Nationals and the like. I can assure you or your club you are doing nothing wrong, - it is worth remembering it was not all that long ago we all had to abide by the Closed Season and there were no canal matches at all from March to June 15th.

Matches help to pay the rent, however small, - it is money coming in.

Botty - just been talking to one of your lads who tells me someone dropped a huge boulder in one of ur lads keepnets when he left his stuff killing his fish and damaging his net!! This bloke sounds like a nob. Is he a member - if so I would get shot of him and wether he is a member or not he should be made to pay for a replacement net.

Like ur website mate :thumsup

Hi
Yes you were told correctly, I believe it has been sorted - who told you this? I think there were only four blokes there as I was 'otherwise engaged' :surprise Thanks for the comment about the web site.
