Grueller 5...Christmas cheer

12 gruellerites graced the towpath of the T & M at Armitage for our pre Christmas grueller. To say it was breezy when I pegged out is an understatement, and to say it blew a hooly most of the match would be an even bigger understatement

With the promise of a kindly donated prize from KOD for a "mystery weight" the draw was made, and off we all trot to our pegs. Unfortunately TK had his usual long walk to another County for his end peg

A few pegs were re-arranged and re-pegged, hence the strange peg order on the result, but a mistake on my part meant poor old TK had a lonely day with only himself for company

Before we kicked off, Trev B made a trip along the match furnishing everyone with some lovely mince pies...very festive, Thanks Trev

The match turned out to be very good, and as gruellers go, it was excellent.

KODs mystery weight was 13 ounce, so well done Trev B on taking home the wine...enjoy.A couple of late Perch on the choppie got me the win today, but overall, I think it was one of our better gruellers, weight wise.

Mince pies,good banter and a few fish aswell,apart from
the strong wind ,which i was amazed there was no broken
carbon. A very good match, well done paul and a merry
christmas to all u gruellerites

Surprising that mate normally a few fish to be had on that stretch

Yeah was crap lol. I had 9 - 1 inch roach, 1 3oz skimmer lol. in 4 hours.

I think i might run one up weaton aston sat. Me n Tk went up
last week n it fished really well . Spoke to a few of the lads
and they are happy with that so w aston it is..
9am draw fish 10 till 2.
