The 5th round of the Oxford winter league was fished by 6 teams of 8 on the Kennet and Avon canal up and down from Kintbury in Berkshire. With the canal flowing and a tinge of colour the canal was always going to fish well especially for end pegs with some brilliant canal weights On the team front Drennan Oxford consolidated their top position only dropping 3 points over 8 sections.
1st Kevin Holmes - Sensas A4 - 32lb 7oz. Kevin drew the end peg everyone wanted, on the white bridge above Kintbury. He caught skimmers, perch and roach all day on casters, worms and maggot over joker feed on the pole from 4m to 10m.
2nd Martin Phipps - Drennan Oxford - 18lb 9oz. martin drew bottom end peg in the match and fished pinkie over groundbait at 4m and had perch and roach all day.
3rd Mark Harrington - Tubertini Apollo Black - 12lb 2oz. Mark drew 2 from the bottom end and had roach and perch on 4m pole and pinkie.
4th Paul Glenfield - Drennan Oxford - 11lb 10oz
5th Steve Townsend - Drennan Oxford - 11lb 9oz.
