Cockadoodle doo – Big Col T’s fur and feather
Sat 8th Feb 2014
Had a little wander down Whitehorse Rd yesterday morning to see how the guys were fairing. 80% of the usual gruellerites had given this knock up a miss after the threat of gale force winds and further showers
TBH I was glad I’d given it a miss too as I was greeted by a windy cut which at times was blowing the anglers nets out of the cut
Only 3 had actually turned up for Big Col T’s ‘surprise’ fur and feather and although they were only half hour or so in, things weren’t looking promising...............no one had had a bite
And here are those hardy three doing their best to scrat a bite..........
In the middle peg was today’s match sponsor - chirpy big Col T
End Peg Yamo having a chat with new member Carlos who’d popped down to pay his subs.......
A finally a look at End Peg Big Col – at a distance cuss I daint wanna get me trainers any muddier........
After watching this ‘exciting’ tussle ::) for 20 minutes or so I headed back to the warmth of the fire and awaited the ‘results’.............surely they would ‘come on’ later, wouldn’t they?
Later that afternoon I received a text detailing the results and a picture of the ‘winner’ with the coveted chicken up for grabs............
Peg 1 Big Col – 2 twigs
Peg 2 Big Col T – 1 twig and a leaf
Peg 3 Yamo – snatched a result late on with 3 twigs
And here’s a victorious Yamo with his Sunday dinner

The canal was windy but it wasn't unfishable and wasn't as bad as the wind the previous week but sadly the roach shoals weren't present. Thanks to big Col T for donating the chicken lol.
May have had one bite, Carlos was behind me and we both thought it was a bite- but hey it weren't to be. In a weird kind of way enjoyed it, great craick, and picked up a few tips on the way. Won't be on the nxt one so tight lines all

Good report TK and my total respect to the 3 hardy gruellerites who proved that Whitehorse Rd can be even more " peggy " then the Extension .
Put me in for Sat 15th Grueller please

The grass aint always greener Trevor - tbh I wouldn't have believed it - you know 'there are fish there' - just goes to show when they don't wanna peck, they don't wanna peck........was it the low air pressure or all the 'cold' rain water we had - cuss the cut 'looked good' - albeit a tad breezy

With all that cold water we have had TK and the fact that cold water sinks. How much time do you normally spend coming up off the bottom trying to find the fish at different depths?
