Been home a few days now lads. Getting into some sort of routine regards healthy eating and minimal exercise at present. Gonna be at least 6 weeks recuperation, building strength up gradually. Have to re-visit specialists in 4 weeks to assess if anything else needs doing in there. I had 2 blocked arteries, which have been re-opened with stents. If they are still ok in a few weeks, maybe one or two more stents should complete the job. If not, it will be a bypass. I had excellent care at New Cross hospital in Wolverhampton, and have had great support off family and friends. Look forward to keeping up with some of your exploits on here and you never know, I might sneak up behind one or two of you on some upcoming matches (I walk that slow I am like a stealth bomber).
Good Luck to you all on Saturday, whether its on the Cashmores match, or the other lads fishing the National at Rugeley/Burton
Update: Been to see cardio rehab team today at Cannock hospital. They are pleased with progress so far. I visit them again in a couple of weeks. Between now and then, I have to go back to hospital to see consultant surgeon on 4th October. Probably another angiogram to check arteries are mending ok. If all well, cardio rehab team will set me up on an exercise programme to rebuild energy and strength. If that happens....look out, I may be back on the bank. Might even make the last Trent match.
