I´m not sure Darran finished 8th overall. I think he was 8th today in his section. I cannot see any individual endresults.

still a very proud moment or two for the lads its not everyday you get to represent our country

I shall try and do a report in the next few days.
I have been very busy recently , its not easy being an international sportsman !!!

I've not even fished in England since the end of March , I've only had 2 weeks in Holland and 2 weeks in Italy

Keef took all the photos so I will have to get them off him and post them.

The journey there - May 29th
I'd loaded mine and Marks kit the day before I left.
I started the journey from Derby at about 3pm and went to pick Keef up from West Bromwich and we went straight to Folkestone to get on the tunnel.
Wed decided to drive through Belgium , Germany and Austria through the night to try and miss a lot of the traffic !
We had a bit of luck in Belgium when the police pulled me for doing 150k and let us off with a warning

The weather was awful in Germany and Austria and we drove 6 hours solid through heavy rain

We finally reached our destination at about 5pm after a couple of pitstops , then we went to have a look at the canal for the first time.

The official training dosnt start until the Monday so we had 3 days away from the official matchlengh to prepare our kit and try different methods.
A lot of kit is needed for these matches as you are never sure exactly what the fishing will be like !
I had taken 8 matching rods and reels plus spares , 3 poles with 10 top 5s plus I'd elasticated about 25 top kits and took spares to elasticate over there !!!!!!!!!!
Then there are 100s of wagglers , 100s of pole rigs ,100s of pre tied hooks plus all the equipment to repeat everything else you may need.
The off lengh practice taught us about what species we could encounter and how to catch them but the fishing was very difficult.
I'll try and talk about the official training tomorrow
