Managed to get mi  'Snowy Barbel' last season  ( two even )
Hopefully 2013 _4....is the year of the 'Trentness Monster'   :D

predro they tell me its a split tide tomorrow and the tide will top at around 3.30pm at laughterton so i dont think we will see the top of the tide at north clifton and certainly wont see it at besthorpe so does this mean it will be fulling up all match as it 11 till 4 or will it rip in the last half hour working out tides is not my strong point

i think the first tide is early morning then 13.11 according to the tidal charts joff , and there will only be a 1 degree difference between nautical sunrise and nautical sunset,

Yep indeed a split tide...will be low and runnun off for first couple of hours then around 1ish she'll turn and slowly run upstream slowly filling up fo a couple of hour. s Not very big tides thought. Might catch the run off fo 30/40 mins...but it wont rip!!!.
Will run opposit direction at N.Clifton....and slowly slow down and fill up at Besthorpe.

Dont get too compfy as you will have to shuffle up bank a tad.....but tides wont be a chaser!!!

Expect it to be tough Joff as i suspect she'll be clear!!!!!

Struggled on heavy gear today!! Mate had two small barbel on pellet plus one 9-10 on corn.
Collingham had a 11 peg knock up on private pegs above Carlton. The guy on down stream end peg won with 44lb of babel plus 2 chub...best wisker went 9-12. ( magott through block end). Second from first peg 12lb 5oz 3 barbel ( caster wi hemp n caster through blockend). Only 5 from the 11 caught

it wasn't that good at besthorpe pedro i drew 55 big sweeping bend gravel bottom i missed the best drop back bite Ive had for years the next one was a dace then out the blue hooked a barbel which snagged me all within a 30 min spot during the match not another sign 
56 had two bream for 10lb around the corner and next to him 57 was James Dent he had 2 barbel and lost three for 14lb
the match was won at loughton is it which included a 15lb 3oz carp with some skimmers for 21lb they were the top three in the match 73 fished 
talking afterwards 56,57,58and 59 won a lot of money last years its like a bay  ;)still better luck next time better get the canal gear ready   

i needed two and half ounce to hold with a big bow the chap below used one and half ounces just shows the difference in pegs but saying that i bet mind on its day could be good
the only problem we found on the morning was the barbel society have the other bank now

River on its knees Joff Ive had one chub in over 20 hours of fishin...so much so im swerving river today!!!.

Think the conditions are at least three weeks behind and their spawnin. A bit of extra water wouldnt go a miss too!!!!

Off back tomorrow with scaled down gear and fish fo owt that swims,,,,,, see what develops -eh!
