Not sure but I think this would be the paying in of the pools years ago for the BA match, - it may have been the H Samuel. It may or may not have included the draw (I doubt it did).
In the old days for all the really big events you paid the pools up front.
For the huge West Midlands Winter League we had to go to Birmingham (Quinton if I remember right) to pay the entry money and all the pools, on a Thursday evening, for every round of the WL that took place on the following Sunday. All the weighers in, scales and stewards were all sorted beforehand too.
The results were much quicker to get out than nowadays as you all had weight cards and all the money was sorted. No points systems then. Unless circumstances dictated a late start (weather) you were on the way back at 4.30pm.

Yes Kingfisher I think it is Bob Tromans and Ron Baker. I used to fish with them when I was a yougster in the Wolverhampton West End club, I remember you were a member for a while.
