Charity Match

I'm helping to organise a Charity match (For Macmillan nurses) on the Branston Golf Club section of the Trent at Burton. Sometime in August.

Anyone got any info on the stretch. IE depth, flow, inside line or across, feeder. That sort of thing. Alot of the lads fishing the match have never fished the Trent let alone this stretch, so advice will be much appreciated.

Cheers,

No one ??

Went for a walk down there yesterday and lots of work required to get some of the pegs fishable. Didn't look very deep in places. No Fish showing either.

Hi Arch - 'we' fished it last year (but I missed it) Used to 'love' it years ago when Drakelow controlled it. As youve noticed, variable depths dependent on 'area' and stick, wag, whip or pole used to score.

However our guys had their normal grueller Image last year - results in this link

YaBB.pl?num=1345298967

if MrV clocks this topic, I'm sure he can give you a little more upto date info........

Thanks TK. Image The bit we've been given to fish is just upstream of the Railway bridge. It looks fast and very shallow.

Will be a challange for some of the lads. :-/

Fished our match on Sunday. 13 fished 13lb 4oz won. 7lb 1oz second (Both had big Bream 7lbs each) I came third with a Roach weight of 4lb 4oz. We raised upwards of £700 for MacMillan nurses. Some of the lads had traveled from Scotland and Devon to fish, all had a good time, some were to pis*ed to remember what went off. We will do it again next year. But the end of the match was spoiled by Jet skiers.  Image

Would it be alright to post up the Just Giving page ?? Just incase anyone off here would like to donate a little money towards MacMillan.

No problem if that breaks site rules, just thought i'd ask. Image
