Ok Si here it is.
I had decided before the match it was going to be a tip job for me but i intended to drip a line at 11mtrs to use as a banker the last hour "wind permiting". Anyway i drew peg 26 and just short of half way theres a shallow bar 2/3ft deep. I decided on the whistle that i,d pop in a couple of feeder fulls of mashed corn and catmeat and then drop short into the deeper water until the sun got up and the fish fancied a bit of warmth on their backs. i spent about 15mins on the shallow bar just lookin for indications before i started to chuck shorter into 6/7ft of water on the same method. The following hour revieled nowt but a bloke on the far bank had lasooed 2 fish on the wag so i wasnt too discouraged. At this point i thought i,d have a look see on me pole line and went straight in with a piece of catmeat on a 14s pr21 and it burried as soon as it hit the deck but having showed the 8/9lb fish the net twice i then pulled out of it. this brought on the tinky fizzer dance and a few expletives and it took me a while to calm myself down. i then spent another 20mins on the pole looking for a bite but none came. this was a good time to have another look on my short feeder line while i took advantage of a hot cup o mocca java, having then finished me drink and no indications forth coming a little switch to me long feeder line and double hair rigged corn seemed the likeliest next step as id spotted a fish roll on top of me baited area. I sat on my hands after the next throw for about 10 minutes before the tip went round, a fish of about 1.5lb it took me an hour to put 5 more fish in the net but as i,d only seen 3 fish caught i stayed with it until the death. Sport did pick up a little bit and i did loose a couple but as it turned out i didnt need em anyway. given the conditions early that morning plus a cold northerly wind it fished better than i expected although at the time it was slow and sometimes frustrating.
