Deffo 100% right decision. I could not believe how much snow we had in Burton !
We all want to go fishing at the weekend but common sense tells us it just ain't worth it some days !!
Anyway it should be mild and sunny next Sunday and we will all bag up !!! :D :D

Glad that you cancelled it Adam, but wished i'd made the effort to go to Kilby Bridge like Rob. Got stuck under the railway bridge in Harborough and couldnt get back up the hill into Desborough so had to take refuge in McDonalds for a while!

Was so bored on Sunday almost made the trip to Kent to have a look at Monks Lakes!

Hope its ok for Sunday - what has happened to this winter - the lack of roach catching action is starting to affect my work and home life, getting very narky >:( and losing patience with people!!!

Where are you pegging on Sunday Adam - are you brave enough to put the Manor back in yet??? Image

Not at all maddog - we love this canal and the flowing sections at Aylestone and will carry on fishing this league every year, give our full support etc etc. Looking forward to a few sessions on the tench at Crow Mills this summer too!! Would like to run some evening matches here, Kilby, possibly at Foxton, Harborough too if I can get enough interest (and permission from Nursey??)

maddog every where has fished bad this winter and who i look at it its 30 minutes up the road there's 52 anglers on it the bait bill is £3 at most and the banters great just look at how many hits the topic has had
what i would say is it perhaps wants splitting up i'm going to run a teams of six on our canal next winter with no B/J allowed if we can split both leagues it would be better i've had loads asking to do this Image Image i know it was because of the weather that the matches piled up Image

like i say they are a great bunch of lads and this area is very lucky to have 50 to 60 peg matches most weeks mr porter top draw i did think he might crack after a few weeks of banter but sadly no he hasn't yet Image Image
as you know we are going through a rebuilding stage with the team some have gone some can't afford to go and decisions have to be made Arron is a top class young angler that has lots of targets to achieve and now he's put his other commitments on the back burner [rugby] it was the idea chance for me to approach him we are a sponsored team and we need to show that and it means traveling around we will do it last year showed me we had taken team fishing for granted and results showed this year i hope to put that back in order and its thanks to teams like wigston, oadby and quorn for this i just hope the super league and competitions like that come back one day  Image

i think that is a great idea to split the two leagues over the two venues.the only thing i will say having fished both venues is your venue has a lot more smaller fish in and would be better to fish yours early in the colder weather and wigstons later as it warms a little.i think a longer league over 5 matches on yours 4 count and 5 matches on ours 4 count.this would give more peg fees for the clubs which is needed to keep the waters .i think wigstons water fishes better at the begining of march and would be best to run into the closed season.my only worry with your water is if u run bloodworm matches before the league. Image maddog if u keep being this nice to joff he might be asking u to join as you say your not good enough for our teams Image Image Image Image Image Image.porter doesnt wear tights its stockings
