RESULT 5TH ROUND OF THE SOAR VALLEY WINTER LEAGUE
the first thing i did on sunday morning was to get the flask out and the thermals on after looking out of the window Image Imagesnow on the ground  Imagerain and blowing a gale Image Imageeverything was ready the night before so i only had to jump in the van with my bait .driving towards the draw the wind was bettering the van and the only thought i had someone sensible would call it off ::) ::)on arrive at the pub a nice cup of tea and a bacon butty was more than welcome and soon it was time for the draw with everybody paid up, we sent roger marlow to make the draw as Image Imagehe's been drawing really well for the team

back at the table after the draw i dished the pegs out not the best draw  :-/but not a blowout draw either which was the most  important thing
i told everyone to spend more time getting them self comfortable in there pegs as ivan always said in cold conditions being comfortable is worth one or two more fish.so off we all went to our pegs and just as i was pulling out of the car park godfrey stopped me  ::) ::)ans said they had drawn well with some real flyer's  Imageso that got me think we hadn't drawn as good as i first thought :-? :-/
arriving at my section in the driving rain and hale i sat in the van just looking out the window  Image Imagewhy why am i doing this  Image Image
anyway kits out and i'm off to my peg not a long walk thank god but the only problem was the wind was straight in my face  :o :o :o :oand was freezing,up went the brolly straight away just so i could get my tackle set up  :D :D :D1 feeder rod 1 straight lead and 4 top kits Imagenot bad for saying i couldn't feel my hands
we were going to fish 10.15 to 3.15 so i did'nt have to wait long for the start
steve gardener was on my left and went off like a train fishing the feeder his first three bites turned out to be three roach for about pound in weight Imagei hadn't had a bite at this stage Image Imagesoon i was into roach on my 6 metre line and breadpunch 2oz fish started to come and after the first hour the weather picked up so i started another line at 13metres and fished both lines taking a few fish off each i ended up winning the section with 2kg750g steve had ended up with 1kg 500g and to my right 20grams
so all in all i had a nice day, during the day I'd had a few phone calls and results were mixed as long as we hadn't had a blowout it would be fine Image
back at the pub i was one of the first so i was counting them in as they walked in ,at the start it looked gloomy my 1 7,8 2,3,6  :-?4,1,1,3 =36
i did think that would be hard to beat on the day and it turned out so Image Image Image

I hate chub pegs...

...but skimmer pegs (and big perch that swim by themselves) are alright! Image

Could any crappity smack explain the difference in catching chub or big perch on the cuts.
As for shoving a dictionary where the sun don't shine, I have a twelve volume set, there would still be room for yours Joff.

Big perch live on their own and can show up anywhere.....

Chub shoal up on certain pegs and are vermin..

Whoever started this 'I hate chub in canals' syndrome ought to be put up against a wall and crappity smack shot. I will carry this out personally if need be.
Chub have been in canals for over 50 years to my knowledge; they are fish with fins and don't always win anyway.
This selfish attitude is part of the reason why turnouts are falling in individual and team matches.
Funny in it. crappity smack all is said when they win at Nuneaton or Atherstone.

I am not all that keen on commercial fishing but I don't get all mardy about it.

What a comical state to get in. crappity smack it
