Well today the irish festival in and around Enniskillen has come back with a bang. The town sections and airport have been in good form this week considering the poor weights of the classic. With 42kilo winning Monday with good 30's as back ups and very similar for Tuesday and Wednesday. Today how ever was to see a huge change for one man in particular, that man being Tom Pickering. Tom found himself some 60kilo off the pace as his highest daily had only been 11k before today, he now finds himself 30kilo in front of the field after recording the biggest daily weight I have heard from around the town in decades. Drawn on Sligo 1 opposite the castle on Broadmeadow, Tommy soon found himself hooked into a river erne bream, something of which has been very scarce over the last 6 / 7 years around Enniskillen so must of thought it was a good start and nice bonus, little did he know that 5 hours later another 57 would of joined it and half dozen good Hybrids as well to give him a daily total of 109kilo and was to win the day by a country mile, well done Tommy Image Image

Some, myself included thought these days had gone but today is proof that you always have to go and try no matter what has happened previously in your peg as you just never know what is to happen on the day Image Image

Good luck to all involved on the final day tomorrow, tight lines Image Image

I have been reliably informed today that this weight broke the previous erne system record which was 104kilo held by Nicky Sedon :-/ :-/ Image Image

I was in N Ireland last week.
The Classic was very tough except for Sligo Road, Broadmeadow, Rossahilly and Boa Island that produced a mix of good and bad.

On one day 15 pegs were booked (£5 a shot) on Crom Estate, nobody had a bite, the following match saw one fish caught there.
Other than that there were plenty of dry nets.

We fished a land locked lough all week and the fishing did get worse day by day.
