Great news for the Loughborough Canal

The Loughborough canal has just had a re-stock of hundreds of pounds of fish all in mint condition . The Quorn AS club length and the loughborough soar both had fish introduced last wednesday. Working alongside the canal and river trust all small clubs will benefit thanks to the work that John Ellis is doing .John has angling in his blood and is our point of contact whether its vandalism or cutting back foliage that overhangs the canal. Due to the powers above its not alway quick which frustrates John a mansley . So when i received a Email from John saying there is a good chance our club could receive some new fish as part of a national re-stocking plan i was over the moon . John also said it could be in the next few weeks or the autumn but hey it was still great news for the Clubs . Tuesday another Email this time from John and Ian McNeil [remember that name from the Essex County era] D- Day had arrived and a plan had to be drawn up to where the fish were going to be introduced into the canal and easy access points found. Pretty easy for me and soon plans were sent back and delivery would take place on the wednesday . lucky for me i could get down to the canal and help and what a sight to see
