Rules on End pegs. C/O Elite 88

This question was sent as a broadcast message to the Admin and Mods rather than posted on the forums so I thought I would post it for him.
Can somebody verify the rules on end pegs and what I mean by this, when you are the last angler and have several spare pegs to one side and no more anglers.
I recently set up a feeder rod to cast to some reed beds that were a couple of pegs down to my right. I cast out, found the range and clipped up before the match which is perfectly ok in our matches. the whistle went and I started on the long pole in front of me and never really had to come off it, I had a good match and came 3rd so never fished the feeder at all.
After the match, I overheard a couple of anglers discussing my feeder line as out of order and not the done thing even though I did not fish the method.
Have they got a point?, I was under the impression that end peg was my good fortune to cast as far as I wanted so long as no other anglers were there.
If this is just a question of opinion, I really dont care thats their problem, as long as I am not inadvertently breaking any rules. Do any rules exist?, I certainly have not heard of them
Or maybe it was because the two anglers occupied the bottom two slots in my section

Depends on how far they dangle
It is enforced strictly on the Ireland scene where I fish.
Up to yer knees and that is as far as you can set up yer scaffolding
Can't remember ever drawing an end peg so I wouldn't have a crappity smack idea what to do with one

It sounds a little sour grapes to me i can't see you have done anything wrong you have used your end peg to maximize its value .End pegs normally carry a brown envelope on them especially commercials you might not needed to go that far anyway. Would these anglers said the same if a pleasure anglers had sat on that reed bed i've known it happen . End pegs are good full stop you've done well keeping an open mind . I once had a end peg on the river soar it was a deep slow section called the deeps. i'd caught nothing until i saw a bream roll in the next peg down and the pegs where spaced out . That day mind was the end peg in the match my first instinct is always do what your thinking and dont leave it or ponder over it . so i setup a heavier feeder rod and chucked it down my peg within half a hour i'd had two bream and lost one end up winning my section in the winter league and 4th in the match with 17lb

Sour grapes, most end pegs are yours to do as you please, either down side to the open water or a 100m chuck to a feature. Take national on trent, you can only go a yard against the flow, the rest of your peg is with it, but the end peg below the fall at Collingham they throw 80 yard up stream and sometimes more than that, its an NFA run match and nothing ever said about it as its end peg.
Having said that I have fished matches on puddles that have stated you can not fish past the next peg, but that is clearly laid out before the match starts.
The norm is an end peg is yours to do as you wish after a bit of luck in the draw, for future matches just ask the question before anyone draws then you have no grey areas after the all in
