further up the m6, the buildings to the left might give it away, those to the right knocked down for a nasty bit of tarmac

Is it the Cauldon Canal, coming off the Trent and Mersey?

My last shot would be the Hall Green branch (Tunstall branch). The one that connected it up with the Macc Canal,

yes not sure where it run when it finally disappeared i was a toddler, i was told about the newcastle junction canal and another that led to the local mines, i came across the above newcastle branch i think a road linked this to the newcastle junction canal , correct me if i'm wrong cos i just go of snippets i've found.
shame these canals disapeared, when i noticed a new bridge in newcastle with fish carved on it a few years ago i asked the question, why?? the stream was very shallow, i was then told newcastle had canals!!! as well as a castle on the banks of a very nice pool!!! good at knocking things down and filling holes in up my way. then hiding the history. think its called progress

Bit of a struggle at the moment although I've not been out much.Roll on spring!
I know the newcastle branch ran from Stoke alongside London road but not sure where it went after that.
