Simple Match Fishing Forum

This has been in the planning for a long time and until i could free up some of my time and put the final touches to this series of matches .The first job i had to do was to get a right hand man to help a simple choice for me Brian Hull and perhaps the main Match organiser in the area .
Leicestershire has almost dropped off the map concerning natural venue competitions yet boosts on of the best River in the country the River Soar right through 2013 from June to December its fished brilliantly we also have a very good canal that has been rested for most of the year to recover from a hectic winter before
I've been in contact throughout with Brian and we have finally put plans to paper




The Sensas River Soar Masters will run through the summer over six rounds all six matches are classed as qualifiers we really hope to get enough interest to make these qualifiers 50 pegs as this will put a tidy sum into the final match
HOW IT WILL WORK
Each qualifier will have five sections of ten anglers the winner of each section will qualify for the final .we are asking that each angler at least fishes 3 rounds but there is nothing stopping you fishing all 6
THE MONEY SIDE OF IT
We need to sell this out if possible to guarantee these payouts
Each angler will pay £20.00 to enter the competition
A total of £1,000 pounds per round
out of this money we will take £3.00 per peg
We will then take £4.00 per angler for the final
we will then pay five sections @ £40.00 per section
we will then pay the to four individuals on the day
1st £150.00
2nd £120.00
3rd £100.00
4th £80.00
over the six qualifying rounds this will generate a prize Total of £3,900,00 pounds
But will also put £1,200.00 towards the final
THE FINAL
30 lucky anglers will fish a final that will be worth around £1,700.00 with pools on the day 
This will be payed out along these lines six, five peg sections @ £50,00 each
the top 3 individuals in the final
1ST £600.00
2ND £300.00
3RD £200.00
THE VENUE
The river soar at sutton bonington easy parking and and easy access to the river with 50 pegs there will be a little walking but no fences to climb over just load up and walk
THE DRAW
THE Anchor pub Hathern postcode LE12 5JB full breakfast on site FROM 7.30AM £5 DRAW 8.30AM
THE DATES
ROUND 1 22nd JUNE
ROUND 2 6th JULY
ROUND 3 20th JULY
ROUND 4 3rd AUGUST
ROUND 5 17th AUGUST
ROUND 6 31st AUGUST
and the final will be on
SEPTEMBER THE 21st

Is it all going to take place at Sutton?

Yes ben i think so we didn't want to split a competition up of this size for the anglers that are traveling they will automaticly what they will need to fish
we thought about moving around but 10 here and there isn't right
the goood thing about all at sutton is the fact if you draw a bad area you are still in with a chance of making the final

Sutton is a consistent stretch with lots of fish to offer! Who will we need to book in with to get into one of the matches?

blimey can't believe it
ment to tell you tafty the pilot for JCB who has just had 9 months training on there new aircraft live a stones throw from me and we have the odd drink in the woodies when he's not flying really nice bloke Stig is his nick name and a real bonus his wife shops with us

Tafty its not like the canal i know you had a bad day and if anything i'd of given you your money back as i didn't know about it until you wrote it up
this will be as fair as match as you can get 10 peg sections the winner qualifies plus doubles his money the harder sections you deside how you fish it because at this time of year there will be a fair amount of big fish about Tench especially big perch or it could be a bleak day its wide open.if you draw the better section you will have to work harder to win the section over 10 pegs
yes you get a few bank walkers but not as many as the canal and yes you will have boats but its 30 metres wide and 10 to 12ft deep so the more the better in the summer

I must admit did moan about that, mind you I thought it was going pearshaped when they were all out beore the start at the canal side in their pyjamas having a fag

Yeah, i'll give it a go, probably get battered but you never know. don't mind boats, anyway I used to live on one so I cant really say owt can I .

Hi Wayne this is the first advert we just wanted to see what responce we would get and to be fair ive had lots of messages asking the same thing .i will post 1 to 50 names on the website before long first come first serve bases then a waiting list

I have seen some futuristic plans about this, there were on some Midlands TV programme.

The old Woodseat Hall is be completrely refurbished to make a posh clubhouse.

Woodseat Lake (the old Caldon Canal) will be incorporated into the golf course.

crappity smack golf, woodseats was brilliant when it was float only

I was asked last night if this competition is a success would i consider the same format in the winter on the canal with B/J i think it could work after the winter league perhaps two before christmas and 3 after
