After a year of tinkering with the idea of calling it a day on the bank, today was my last match for good! Interest levels for the sport I used to love are at a all time low, the thought of sorting my gear out and getting bait, rigs/hooks and the rest of the prep makes my blood presure go through the roof! Travelling, fuel costs, s.h.i.t.e venues and no interest to turn to the dark side have made my decision EASY! Had some great fun with all that I have fished with over the years, thanks to everyone that's has helped me over the years to come from really s.h.i.t.e to s.h.i.t.e, and a big thanks to mark, budge, swiss Tony, Noel, the old school mosella boys! Time to move on boys! wish you all the best for Christmas!

Not about the good or the bad times Dave, lost interest in my love off fishing mate, just not enjoying it at all, weather there are good or bad times, just no interest at all cocka
Bonanzzzo ..it appears to me, and like me,,,,, yas seems to ave lost ya fishin mojo
Park ya tackle on hard shoulder til spring time n see wot develops - eh!!!
I, am in a right rut at the minute but I wont be hanging anything up I did it about 10 / 11 years ago and it was the worse thing I ever did, luckily I didn't sell up, it was still sat in garage for me to fire back up again a year later My advice is have a few week off, get lashed up over Christmas and look forward to a new start in 2014
I felt exactly the same around 5 years ago mate. Never considered selling my gear but still haven't really got the bug back nice to have a dabble every now and again just to remind myself how crap I am!
Understand fully time effort preparation and money is massive when you have a house and kids that must come first. Ive been through it kiddo take some deep breaths and some time off the sport . ;)you will know better after that how you feel about fishing mate its turf out there and with christmas coming up perhaps a hasty top of the head decision
looking back its the best thing ive done kiddo i'm enjoying a run of form catching plenty of fish and still hungry for the sport
one thing i don't miss is the drinking after a match
I haven't been out match fishing since we (Ted Carter's) won the summer league , that was a decision I took because my life has moved into another direction . I miss the banter of the circuit like crappity smack already plus this year our lads had a great year team wise . I can't wait to get back team fishing again with the lads after just a few months out and will be back fresh and keen as crappity smack in the sprIng . Boozing football and shaggin takes some beating though !
