Pellets on cut matches?

Generally on the cuts there are very few bait restrictions, the only one generally applicable is either no w & j or restrictions on the time of year it can be used ie Oct - Mar
With the advent of seemingly greater numbers of larger fish in the canals these days, should the likes of pellet, or even meat and corn for that matter be allowed in canal matches?
What’s your views and why?
Should there be any other type of bait use restricted on cut matches?

tk why should pellet, meat, corn be banned off canals? What reason would you have for banning them off your waters?
Corn and pellet work wounders on certain stretches of your stretch of canal and the results are there to be seen when 50 and 80 lb bags of tench are being caught in the summer.
There is no reason for any baits to be banned on canals, rivers as the water turn over is so great compared to a commercial were x amount of water just sits in a hole so excessive bait use can result in poor water quality.
In a canal match there should be no bait restrictions as its upto the individual to what bait he wants to take and use. One person might have total confidence in punch were as the next might have no confidence at all in punch but total confidence in pellet or corn ect.
I have found most anglers who fish cuts now adays target the bigger speicies ie the carp, tench, bream and big skimmers with the exception of people like ratty who fishes for eyes or fert you fishes for anything but catches nout.
Bait bans are getting out of hand now adays and forcing to stretch the rules to breaking point. Next will be bans on pole lengths ie 11m max or 13m max ect ect

I aint got a problem with using pellets on the canal, just another method to learn.
On it's day it can be devastating and a lot cheaper than chopped and caster.

Dodge what do they class as a pellet that theyve banned ? Is just expanders or hard feed pellets or luncheon cut into pellets or as we used on commercials were pellets were banned potatoe cut in to pellets, stained with tea and flavoured.
I beleive it should be left to the individual to what bait he wants to use and uses. Ive never used bloodworm and joker and have no ambition to but i wouldnt call for it to be banned

Theres a time and a place for Pellets. The time of year, the type of pellet your using, the fish you,re seeking, and the fishery you,re on. I,ve said this a million times but its not about sacking, its about protecting the sport and for me Cheap clean readily available baits tend to be over used out of ignorance and selfishness and this can have devistating consequences on a fishery. I,m not saying dont use pellets, im saying education is the key. preserve what we have. Killer baits can be a double edged sword.
Disclaimer,
This is only my opinion so please dont go hurling abuse at me cos ya think differently

welder you are talking about a pool when we are on about using pellets on a cut. A pool is totaly different as its a hole with standing water and no water change able to take place ie excessive bait use will = poor water quality, but on a canal were the waters moving then the water is constantly changed = no effect of bait causing water pollution

I believe you should always respect any controlling clubs rules whether it is a canal, lake or river.I have no problem with pellets being banned on the Staffs and Wolves waters,i think it is because the ruling clubs want there canal to stay as a traditional canal methods venue.....canal purists if you like which is fine by me. Imagine this tho, if a very large match was taking place on a canal somwhere and 80% of the anglers tipped there unwanted pellets into the canal after the match ??
Wigan AA banned Bloodworm & joker a few years ago on their Leeds-Liverpool canal, that in a way has had a detrimental effect on match fishing in the north west as we no longer have a B/Joker circuit there now and the fishing on that canal has not improved !! plenty of very good bread anglers tho!!!

Canal anglers are the worst in the world for over feeding bait..
They sit there your 5 hours, catch 2lb over a tanners worth of bait, tell every one they have over fed their swim and then throw 2 pints of Casters, maggots, pinkies and squatts in along with any remaining groundbait!

pellets are banned on stafford and wolves water
IWAA/Stafford do NOT ban pellets,
Wolves AA do ban pellets (not pellets of meat, bread and other such baits) but fishmeal and trout pellets.
As the Div 3 is on the two stretches of water the only sensible answer was to ban them altogether.

ratty that fair enough if they name the type of pellets ie trout pellets or pellets containing fish meal being banned , but what about fishmeal free pellets, would they be allowd.
