Strikers Match Report - Vine Yard, Top Pool
Posted: November 11th, 2013, 9:21 pm
This last few weeks ive mostly been drinking Pumpkin Soup & Hobgoblin Beer.
A frosty start to this years Fur & Feather and the fact that a lot of decent fish have been removed & relocated from the Top Pool made for a hard contest.
In permanent peg 18 Andy Pitt took the contest with 43-9 of small carp on corn down the edge,
Pitter had the biggest fish of the day of only 3-0 and also took this weeks pole trasher award after bostin a section between the fork of a tree, might be wise to invest in a pole roller mate.
Carl Carter in 2nd adopted feeder tactics to the island from permanent peg 12 which rewarded him with 38-9-8 on the pellet, in the next peg to him Mark "Mac" McGinley bagged 36-13 for 3rd alternating between pole & waggler, Mark caught on both pellet & corn.
Kev "Bill Oddie" Driver took the Winter League after a slow start in 4th place with 17-12-8,
but not before netting a Moorhen which he caught in the beak. Twice during the contest Kev needed assistance to retrieve his tackle from the tree behind his peg.
No surprise the Carters went home with the same cheap wine they have brought with them for the last 4 years, Roy said it might be a good idea to wrap it next year.
Congrats to every one involved with the club on another successful & eventful year.
Might catch you at the end of season meeting & social on Thurs 12th Dec 8pm at the
Eagle & Spur, Cookley, lots to discuss & debate before Febuarys A.G.M. & Presentation.
Members old & new all welcome.
