Some funny things going on with the rivers
Just read this
I'd like to know where you got your information from LIOB? 20 blanks!? only 16 fished so how does that equate??
Anyway out of the 16, 6 did blank or DNW.
Top 4 all had a solitary Bream + bits. 5th & 6th place had 1-13-0 each of bits. The remainder had ozs.
Fish are still spawning, I know this because 3 Bream were caught on the pole line at 11-13m! and that is a rarity. The fish shoals were moving about but not interested in feeding.
We have a match on there tomorrow (Sat. 22nd) I reckon it could be the same? I'll give it another week, unless they have now stopped their 'carrying on' in which case it could fish its lady lumps off!

In order of keeping the info on this post real here are the weights from the match at Littleport (Sections D & E) today (30.06.2013);
1st (Peg 37) 14-0-0 (3x Bream on feeder)
2nd (Peg 38) 4-7-0 (Bream on feeder)
3rd (Peg 36) 3-10-0 (Bream on feeder)
4th (Peg 35) 2-7-0 (Perch & eels)
5th (Peg 34) 2-6-8 (Bream 'skimmer' on feeder)
The rest of the field struggled to be honest. 18 fished. Pegs used 31 up to 49.
Very clear water conditions not helping at all. Not many small fishing being caught, its either Bream or bust at the moment.
Yes, the KLAA match planned for Ten Mile Bank on Saturday (29.06.2013) was cancelled due to only 4 or 5 booking on (and these were regulars) TMB is not fishing very well at the moment either, odd pleasure catch of note here and there.
Still a month or so before the Div 2 national so things may well improve?
Next match is Saturday (06.07.2013) and we plan to use the early numbers up to the 20's depending on turnout.
Tightlines to all.

We had a match on the Littleport section of the Gt Ouse today, Saturday 6th July and here are the results;
1st (peg 9) section A, 10lbs 7oz - 2x big Bream on feeder
2nd (peg 14) section A, 6lbs 14oz - 2x Bream on feeder
3rd (peg 28) section B, 5lbs 13oz - 1x big Bream + bits on feeder
4th (peg 11) section A, 5lbs 12oz - 2x Bream on feeder
Section A (peg 8/ winner by default) had 4lbs 2oz (Bream)
Section B (peg 26/ winner by default) winner had 5lbs 1oz (Bream & bits)
All on feeder although an angler in peg 25 had 1lbs 7oz made up of 3 Roach + small skimmer caught on pole! So there is hope.
21 fished, and a few blanked, even those on pegs that usually produce something. We used pegs 8 tp to 28, so section D in the Div 2 national.
Until the Roach arrive its a Bream or bust contest and even these are not feeding as normal (yet) so its still all a bit hit and miss although the Bream have now finished spawning.
Where are the Tench? well these must still be spawning as they are a late spawning species by their very nature, maybe this year we'll see them later on (along with the Roach).
Our next match is planned for Sunday 14th July and results shall be posted on here.

Hi Joff,
Recent results have not exactly lit the world of match fishing alight but it is what it is.
The match fished on 14th July was as follows;
1st. (peg 24) 3-03-08
2nd. (peg 18) 1-15-08
3rd. (peg 10) 1-13-0
4th. (peg 15) 1-08-08
25 fished.
Since then we also hosted the Riverfest qualifier on Sunday 21st July.
1st. (peg 33) 5-10-0 (Tench + small fish)
2nd. (peg 50) 5-09-0 (Bream + small fish)
3rd. (peg 58) 4-14-08 (skimmers)
4th. (peg 23) 4-08-0 (skimmer + small fish)
5th. (peg 19) 3-14-0 (small fish)
6th. (peg 27) 3-13-0 (small fish)
60 fished.
We have a match on Littleport tomorrow (28th July) so I'll post up results once known.
Seems that the smaller fish are now feeding in some areas whereas the bigger fish now seem to have gone off the boil. We've had a bit of rain this week so it could be all different come the national next weekend.
cheers banjo

EA plan weed cutting on top East Anglia venue.
The Environment Agency will cut back weeds to prepare the River Great Ouse, for this years Divison Two National and Preston Innovations World Club Classic, it has been announced today. It is also hoped that the exercise will provide results to help the agency better understand the river’s fish stocks.
The Division Two National will this year take place on August 3rd on the River Ouse, an Environment Agency owned fishery near Littleport (between Ely and Denver).
The fishery was chosen because it has large bream and roach shoals, and the Environment Agency has agreed to cut back weed growth to ensure the event runs as smoothly as possible.
A bank and channel clearance regime has been organised and much of the work has already begun.
Kye Jerrom, Fisheries Technical Specialist at the Environment Agency said: “We are keen to support this event which attracts hundreds of anglers from all corners of the country to a different venue every year.
“One of the biggest accolades for a match angler is to possess a National winner’s medal, either as a team or individual.
“There are also scientific benefits. We use match results to compliment our own fisheries survey data, both from netting and hydro-acoustics, which allows us to better understand the river’s fish stocks.
“It is a great thing to keep these huge competitions on natural fisheries – there’s nothing more satisfying than catching a huge weight of roach or bream on a venue as large and wild as the Ely Ouse.
“Each year we survey the river and this project will allow us to use the results to back up what we already know.
“We are well aware of huge shoals of fish throughout the system but generally only a handful of pegs are ever fished; this is a great way to help anglers enjoy a day’s fishing and put something back at the same time.
“Every angler buys a rod license and we work hard turning 100 per cent of proceeds into fisheries-funded projects like this.
“All anglers will be able to enjoy this project which reflects the great relationship between the Angling Trust and the Environment Agency."
Working with five clubs – Ely Beet Sports and Social club, Littleport Angling Association, London Angling Association and Kings Lynn Angling Club, and Pymoor Angling Club, 350 pegs were highlighted for the 35 teams of 10 competition.
Kelvin Allen of the Angling Trust said: “Local clubs welcome the support from the Environment Agency in what is an immense challenge to clear both banks and lilies for this year’s busy event calendar.
“Ensuring large angling competitions continue on natural rivers means our waterways can continue to be enjoyed by all and not drop into decline.”
Further information can be found at www.aterforum.co.uk with updated section maintenance programmes, survey results and catch results for each match.
