Hi all new to forum. IVe had a quick scan over some topics, good to see other peoples thoughts on things. Just wandered peoples thoughts on what tips they use on pôle floats?
Squatt, punch, worm, caster etc..

You will notice Simps didnt answer your question....thats cos all his float tips are 1" across for catching tame Craps

General rule of thumb for me is (and it all depends on wind/tow conditions)

Small baits such as squatt, bloodworm etc I use wire tips.
Caster/maggot/choppie I use nylon/plastic tips.
Larger baits such as lobby, sweetcorn etc I use cane tips.

My personal prefrance would normaly be
Squatt,pinkie - fibre tips.
Caster ,magg - thin cane tips.
Choppy- long cane tip for small worms, hollow tip for bigger worm.
Suppose as long as its Going under your on the right tracks.

Hollow tips shot to an easily spotted pimple every time, they are perfect for most situations especially river/ commercial work. Not the best for shallow canal bloodworm/ squatt fishing, i normally use fibre tips for this. Reading the float easy and they are a lot more sensitive than a lot of people think

Steve Gardner uses them for 90% of his fishing so they must be good!
